Shepley, their associates and successors, are hereby made a corporation by the name of the Providence Athletic Association, for the promotion of sound physical culture, the encour agement and enjoyment of athletic sports and pastimes, the develop ment of social intercourse and for other similar purposes, with all the powers and privileges, and subject to all the duties and liabilities set forth in Chapter 152 of the Public Statutes, and in any acts in amend ment thereof or in addition thereto.
