Every story has a beginning... Every Saga begins with Changes... Do werewolves exist? Jimmy Walls never gave it a thought. Jimmy was a shy, quiet man who thought he had a normal life. When his world turned upside down, everything changed. Taking the job at Ravenswood, he hoped for the best. After an unusual animal out on the prowl mauls several people, he discovers a dark secret happening around him. The secret revolves around the strange man who seems to be living in the building. Again, do werewolves exist? Jimmy is about to find out that some myths are real. A Werewolf's Saga When history began, the human race lived as nothing more than cattle. A great group of creatures known as the Blood Walkers ruled the world. To keep a balance with their human prey, the Walkers and their made kin, gave their cattle a civilization in exchange for flesh and blood. The world was peaceful until a small band of humans with great powers known as the Wanderers emerged from the Walker families. With them, the Walkers strained with living. The human race became restless and soon learned how to fight for their right to live. The world erupted into war, until a new breed of Moonwalker, the Black Wolf, stepped from the chaos. With him came the turning of the tides. With him, the world broke even and a truce was forged. The Walkers won the night and the humans won the day. The Wanderers continued moving through both worlds, and now, in the shadows of the modern world, darkness lingers. A great evil lives and with it, the Black Wolf has returned.
Jimmy heads to New York City searching for the truth behind the memories of the man that bit him. Finding others like him, they know who is. They fear his return. They know his past--a long ago past, and the secret of the wolf that now lives inside him. The secret coming from a dream--a dream following a painful attack that is haunting his soul. With the help of Rachel, and a young werewolf Sasha, he must remember the secret of his past before the man he hurt hunts down The Pack and the woman he comes to love.
With his memories becoming clearer, Jimmy and Sasha head out searching for a Wanderer, a man with special gifts who can help him discover his past, and with it, the man he is becoming, and the pain of a past mistake which continues to haunt his dreams. He must do it and fast. The Walker World now knows of his journey. A man he hurt more than he would ever remember still hunts him down, and with them, his past is catching up to him fast. A past with a haunting memory, which he must learn about before it destroys him, and Rachel forever. With a cure for what he is, Rachel now has his way out from everything. Now, he has to choose--the woman he loves, or the animal that now lives within him.

In recent years, shapeshifting characters in literature, film and television have been on the rise. This has followed the increased use of such characters as metaphors, with novelists and critics identifying specific meanings and topics behind them. This book aims to unravel the shapeshifting trope. Rather than pursue a case-based study, the works are grouped around specific themes--adolescence, gender, sexuality, race, disability, addiction, and spirituality--that are explored through the metaphor of shapeshifting. Because of the transformative possibilities of this metaphor and its flexibility, the shapeshifter has the potential to change how we see our world. With coverage of iconic fantasy texts and a focus on current works, the book engages with the shapeshifting figure in popular culture from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. In folklore, a werewolf is a human with the ability to shapeshift into a wolf-like creature, after a curse. Belief in werewolves developed in parallel to the belief in witches, in the course of the Late Middle Ages and the Early Modern period. The Book of Were-Wolves reports of actual cases of alleged lycanthropy. Rev. Sabine Baring-Gould does a investigative work and bringing us real incident tied to the werewolf myth. Clemence Housman innovates in the book The Were-Wolf by bringing a woman protagonist and a sensual werewolf. About it, H. P. Lovecraft said: "attains a high degree of gruesome tension and achieves some extent the atmosphere of authentic folklore" French writer Alexandre Dumas wrote The Wolf-Leader based on the legends he heard as a child. Dumas tells the story of a man who makes a pact with the devil and is cursed with lycanthropy. Cursed, monstrous, or sensual, or one of the authors brings us his vision of this ancient myth.
