Backyard Trampolining is the most comprehensive guide available for recreational trampolinists. Find out all you need to know about what to look for in a trampoline, how to make your trampoline safer, and learning skills the safe and easy way. Written by by certified gymnastics and trampoline instructor Darlene Traviss, this guide will take you from a beginner to an advanced level.
My name is Peter Wraae Marino, and I have been teaching gymnastics for over 25 years. Trampolines have become very cheap and are accessible by almost anyone. Almost every street has a house with a garden trampoline. Trampolines are fun, and they allow kids to start exploring the world of gymnastics in their own garden. At our gymnastics club, we start new classes right after summer vacation. It is very easy to pick out the children who have garden trampolines. These children will usually attempt more difficult skills without any technical knowledge about how to execute these skills. It saddens me to see this because many of these children want to do gymnastics but have used their whole summer developing gymnastic skills on the trampoline incorrectly and have therefore created what we call “bad habits.” Bad habits is a term used in the gymnastic world when a gymnast always executes their skill using an incorrect technique because he or she has done it so many times that it has become second nature. This handbook is created to help tackle these problems. This handbook assumes that you have no knowledge about gymnastics or trampolines. We will build your basic trampoline skills step-by-step from the ground up.
The Know the Game series has everything you need to know about the sport, including equipment, rules, techniques and training tips.
Trampoline is often seen as a leisurely backyard activity, but it is also known an extreme sport. This lively book covers the basics of extreme trampoline and how the technology has advanced over time. It delves into trampoline world records, the importance of safety, and trampoline lingo. Readers will also learn about elite trampolinists defying gravity and executing fantastic maneuvers over 30 feet, which is the length of a school bus, in the air. This captivating book will encourage those who may not have the means to participate in other sports to jump out into the fresh air.
This is the story of four children who travel back in time and get to visit and experience time with their relatives from the past. There are many adventures they experience while they are in the past.
Praised as “a tender exploration of friendship, families, and first love” (Liane Moriarty, New York Times bestselling author of The Husband’s Secret), this coming-of-age novel from bestselling author Frances Whiting is equal parts heartwarming, accessible, and thought provoking. “Tallulah de Longland,” she said slowly, letting all the Ls in my name loll about lazily in her mouth before passing judgment. “That,” she announced, “is a serious glamorgeous name.” From the day Annabelle Andrews sashays into her classroom, Tallulah ‘Lulu’ de Longland is bewitched: by Annabelle, by her family, and by their sprawling, crumbling house tumbling down to the river. Their unlikely friendship intensifies through a secret language where they share confidences about their unusual mothers, first loves, and growing up in the small coastal town of Juniper Bay. But the euphoria of youth rarely lasts, and the implosion that destroys their friendship leaves lasting scars and a legacy of self-doubt that haunts Lulu into adulthood. Years later, Lulu is presented with a choice: remain the perpetual good girl who misses out, or finally step out from the shadows and do something extraordinary. And possibly unforgivable… It’s not how far you fall, but how high you bounce.
In this extremely positive, motivational, and often laugh-out-loud memoir, Jake Paul pauses long enough from his supercharged day-to-day as a nineteen year old social media heartthrob and costar on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark to share his takes on life, love, fame, and shooting for the moon. Growing up as a regular kid in Ohio, Jake Paul always knew he wanted to do something big, but he wasn’t sure what that thing was—that is, until he found his calling as one of Vine’s most famous comedians. As a high school sophomore, Jake began making comedy videos with his older brother, Logan, and posting them online. With every carefully staged prank, Jake and Logan’s following grew—and after a few stumbling blocks, Jake finally forged his own way. Eventually, he traded his childhood home in Cleveland for sunny, sparkling Hollywood. In You Gotta Want It, Jake reflects on the path that led him to stardom. From learning the value of a disciplined work ethic, to achieving his goals and aspirations along the way to digital celebrity, to the crazy behind-the-scenes details of his journey as a creator and actor, Jake relates the most hysterical and intimate details of his life thus far—all with the signature humor, honesty, and unstoppable attitude that have won him millions of devoted followers.
