During the 2009 to 2010 annual year, Florida's long-term care ombudsmen investigated and resolved 9,098 complaints; more than in any other year in the program's 35-year history. That's why I call them "angels in training."What exactly is an ombudsman? A long-term care ombudsman is an advocate for residents in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and adult family care homes. Why do we need ombudsmen? Because it's human nature to take the easy way out and the powerful can take advantage of the weak. And as one elderly female resident said, "I have been placed in a prison and my only crime was that I got old." Residents have the right to be safe and to be treated with dignity and respect. Ombudsmen are there to make sure these rights are enforced. There is only one problem. Florida's Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is the "best kept secret" in the state.I started writing poetry as a young girl. I didn't know at the time it was a gift from God. Even though I attended church weekly I can't say that God was a big part of my life. He just didn't feel that close to me. Why would I expect a gift from someone I didn't know? But God knew me. His plan for my life included writing poetry back then and this book now. After some major life-changing events in my thirties I sought out God. I found Him at forty but this time I desired a relationship. Now, the Holy Spirit fills me with the words to say when I write poetry, skits or books. Today, I accept God's gifts freely and use them to honor Him. Writing has given me a voice to say what my shyness prevented me from saying out loud. Thank you for listening.
Angels Can Change Your Life! Life here on Earth can be difficult at times and almost unbearable at others. Yes, we have many wonderful and happy experiences too, but once you begin to regularly work with your angels you’ll find that the hard times don’t last as long, and you can get through them much easier. It’s nice to know that you don’t have to carry the burden of your troubles alone. Angels can also offer encouragement, bring you inner peace, healing, and even send you wealth in various forms. Your life will change in amazing ways once you follow the guidance of your loving guardians. The main problem you’ve probably encountered though is how to contact your angels, how to “hear” them, and how to use their guidance. I cover this in-depth throughout the book and will show you several ways you can communicate with them. No matter where you are in life or where you’ve been, your angels are waiting to connect with you and want to help you. All you need to do is let them in. They won’t crash through that closed door and rescue you though, you’ve got to open the door and embrace their love. Only then will you experience the deep connection you can have with your angels and the many ways they can help you.

I asked him, “Are you the angel of death? You must be to keep showing up at these times.” He paused and said, “Let’s just say you can think of me as an ‘Evolution Angel.’” Todd Michael was the medical director of a level-three trauma center when he had his own brush with death before being saved by the voice of an angel. In this collection of true stories from the emergency room, Dr. Michael relates his experiences with dying patients and angels that invariably attend this critical rite of passage. Eventually he began communicating with an angel who was sent to aid us in our human evolution. Evolution, as Dr. Michael describes it in The Evolution Angel, is a “quantum leap, a jump to a completely new and higher level of being.” What exactly is that higher level of being, and how do we achieve it? The Evolution Angel provides fascinating lessons, wisdom, and insight into turning our human journey into one where we can not only communicate with the spirit world but also access this otherworldly wisdom in our lives at any moment. Inspirational, poignant, and wise, The Evolution Angel is a guide for everyone who wants to learn about the purpose of our lives, how to live at the highest level, and what happens to the soul after we die.
For God, we fight; all angels have heard the command. Troy Decker has heard it from his parents countless times. 'Angel investors' provide small amounts of capital ($100k-$3m) to early stage, high-risk ventures. In recent years, they have not only grown in numbers and sophistication, they have garnered the attention of larger investors and governments throughout the world who are interested in the phenomenal power of startups to bring innovative products to consumers, create jobs and economic value, and sustain macroeconomic growth. This comes as no surprise. Some of the world's most valuable and influential companies, such as Google, Facebook, and Uber were able to survive and thrive in their make-or-break early years only through the backing of angels.Angels Without Borders: Trends and Policies Shaping Angel Investment Worldwide, drawing on chapter contributors from more than two dozen nations, will be the only book on the market to examine this trend from a global perspective. It is a very useful reference for anyone who is interested in learning about the angel investment movement.
I talked my sister into letting me help her write this book because I knew it would take a lot of work to get it the way she wanted it. There are quotes here from people whose dogs were acting out and driving them loony. These desperate owners called Eileen because she is well known in these parts or because their veterinarian or a friend recommended her. She jumps in her blue jeep and drives to their house. She evaluates the dog and the owner. It’s usually the owner’s fault I’ve discovered. She tells them, “This is a very cool dog. He’s awesome. We can get him straightened around in no time.” The relief they feel is huge. I’ve seen Eileen turn out of control dogs into angels in seconds. After some basic obedience training the dogs and the owners often attend an “agility” or “therapy dog” class taught by Eileen. The dogs are excited and happy to be there with the other dogs. It’s like camp or a festival. The owners fall in love with their dogs again. The dogs, of course, always love their owners, no matter what. Amazing creatures. Everyone should read this book. You should especially read it before you get a dog so you know exactly what’s involved. I’m not only talking to the adults I’m talking to the kids too. Mickey McGovern has worked in the Hollywood film industry for fifteen years as a writer and a visual effects producer. But more importantly she’s Eileen Tonick’s sister.
In the tradition of Band of Brothers, historian and former paratrooper James M. Fenelon offers a grunt’s-eye view of the 11th Airborne’s heroic campaign to liberate the Philippines in World War II. A soldier’s history at its best. A Grunt’s-Eye View of Pacific Warfare The Pacific theater of World War II pitted American fighting men against two merciless enemies: the relentless Japanese army and the combined forces of monsoons, swamps, mud, privation, and disease. General Joseph Swing’s rowdy paratroopers of the 11th Airborne Division— nicknamed the “Angels”—fought in some of the war’s most dramatic campaigns, from bloody skirmishes in Leyte’s unforgiving rainforests to the ferocious battles on Luzon, including the hellish urban combat of Manila. The Angels were trained as elite shock troops, but high American casualties often forced them into action as ground-pounding infantrymen. Surviving on airdropped supplies and reinforcements, the Angels fought their way across nearly impassable terrain, emerging as one of the most lethal units in the Pacific War. Their final task was the occupation of Japan, where they were the first American boots on the ground. Angels Against the Sun is an unforgettable account of the liberation of the Philippines. In the tradition of Band of Brothers, historian and former paratrooper James M. Fenelon offers a grunt’s-eye view of the war. This is a soldier’s history at its best.
