Edward Hinman (d.1681) immigrated from England to Stratford, Connecticut between 1650 and 1652, married Hannah Stiles, and moved in early 1681 to Woodberry, Connecticut. Descendants lived in New England, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and elsewhere. Includes Henman, Hineman, Beecher, Dew, Ellingwood, Hawley, Ruch, Severy and related families.

Sgt. Edward Hinman married Hannah Stiles who died ca. 1677. She was the daughter of Francis Stiles and Sarah . Edward and Hannah were the parents of eight children. Edwards will is dated 17th November 1681. He died 26th of November, 1681 at Woodbury or Stratford, Fairfield County, Connecticut. Descendants have lived throughout the United States.
