The occurrence of insects and other arthropods of medical importance in Europe (excluding the European USSR) is summarized on the basis of a compilation of almost all available references in the scientific literature. The report includes, for each major group of arthropods, a listing of species and subspecies with biological and distributional data, tabulations of diseases or disease organisms transmitted, and complete literature citations.
