For 60 years the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) has been advancing research in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This book looks into both past experiences and future perspectives using the core of IFIP's competence, its Technical Committees (TCs) and Working Groups (WGs). Soon after IFIP was founded, it established TCs and related WGs to foster the exchange and development of the scientific and technical aspects of information processing. IFIP TCs are as diverse as the different aspects of information processing, but they share the following aims: To establish and maintain liaison with national and international organizations with allied interests and to foster cooperative action, collaborative research, and information exchange. To identify subjects and priorities for research, to stimulate theoretical work on fundamental issues, and to foster fundamental research which will underpin future development. To provide a forum for professionals with a view to promoting the study, collection, exchange, and dissemination of ideas, information, and research findings and thereby to promote the state of the art. To seek and use the most effective ways of disseminating information about IFIP’s work including the organization of conferences, workshops and symposia and the timely production of relevant publications. To have special regard for the needs of developing countries and to seek practicable ways of working with them. To encourage communication and to promote interaction between users, practitioners, and researchers. To foster interdisciplinary work and – in particular – to collaborate with other Technical Committees and Working Groups. The 17 contributions in this book describe the scientific, technical, and further work in TCs and WGs and in many cases also assess the future consequences of the work’s results. These contributions explore the developments of IFIP and the ICT profession now and over the next 60 years. The contributions are arranged per TC and conclude with the chapter on the IFIP code of ethics and conduct.
The Handbook of Research on Information Communication Technology Policy: Trends, Issues and Advancements provides a comprehensive and reliable source of information on current developments in information communication technologies. This source includes ICT policies; a guide on ICT policy formulation, implementation, adoption, monitoring, evaluation and application; and background information for scholars and researchers interested in carrying out research on ICT policies.
This book gathers selected high-quality research papers presented at the Sixth International Congress on Information and Communication Technology, held at Brunel University, London, on February 25–26, 2021. It discusses emerging topics pertaining to information and communication technology (ICT) for managerial applications, e-governance, e-agriculture, e-education and computing technologies, the Internet of things (IoT) and e-mining. Written by respected experts and researchers working on ICT, the book offers a valuable asset for young researchers involved in advanced studies. The book is presented in four volumes.
The two-volume Proceedings set CCIS 1675 and 1676 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Second International Conference, ARTIIS 2022, held in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, during September 12–15, 2022. The 72 papers included in these proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected from 191 submissions. These papers were categorized into 2 technical tracks, i.e., Computing Solutions and Data Intelligence.
Continuous advances in technologies, individuals, and the workplace have increased the importance of adult learning and professional development for keeping up with the current pace of technologies and information. Advanced Research in Adult Learning and Professional Development: Tools, Trends, and Methodologies explores the understanding, practice, and research within technical education and professional development. By providing a comprehensive view on educational technologies for adult learning, this book is essential for lecturers, practitioners, as well as academics interested in a variety of research in continuing education.

Contributions from various disciplines are also needed in the context of post-pandemic recovery, including the fields of social science and economics. Thus, the International Conference on Advanced Research in Social and Economic Science is a forum for researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and advances on how emerging research methods and sources are applied to various fields of the social sciences, as well as discuss current and future challenges. Join the social sciences conference as we explore the latest trends in social sciences and discuss common challenges in politics, social, communication, humanities, networking society, business, sustainable development, and international relations.
This volume addresses the major design challenges and research potential in electronic device applications in healthcare and biomedical systems, exploring the blending of innovative mobile communications, network technologies, and medical sensor and ubiquitous computing devices with medical and biological applications. The authors explore current and future trends in new communication and network technologies for healthcare delivery and new wireless telemedical and mobile health services. The chapters look at the application of machine learning, convolutional neural networks, smartphone-based devices, IoT sensors, and other smart technologies for health diagnosis and monitoring. The volume also looks at integrated circuit design for healthcare applications. The design of energy harvesting systems for a low power biomedical applications is considered, and another unique chapter illustrates the ability of mHealth technologies by using machine learning to predict which blood groups provide resistance against the COVID-19 Delta variant. The main driving forces for the transformation of current healthcare systems are the growing aging population, sharp rising healthcare costs, and frequent occurrences of chronic diseases, resulting in the need to deliver healthcare services in more cost-effective and responsive ways. The traditional hospital-centered healthcare systems, which mainly focus on diagnosis and treatment, are now ready to transform into individual-centered based healthcare system, which, in turn, focuses primarily on early detection, early diagnosis, and long-term monitoring. Electronic devices for biomedical and mHealth are facilitating this transformation in innovative ways. This volume, Advanced Research in Electronic Devices for Biomedical and mHealth, provides a selection of insightful chapters on topics that will be of interest to researchers, faculty, and industry professionals in the fields of biophysics, biomedical engineering, healthcare systems, medical informatics, bioinformatics, and digital electronics devise design.
