This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the International Conference on the Theory and Application of Cryptographic Techniques, EUROCRYPT 2000, held in Bruges, Belgium, in May 2000. The 39 revised full papers presented were carefully selected from a total of 150 submissions during a highly competitive reviewing process. The book is divided in topical sections of factoring and discrete logarithm, digital signatures, private information retrieval, key management protocols, threshold cryptography, public-key encryption, quantum cryptography, multi-party computation and information theory, zero-knowledge, symmetric cryptography, Boolean functions and hardware, voting schemes, and stream ciphers and block ciphers.
These are the proceedings of Eurocrypt 2004, the 23rd Annual Eurocrypt C- ference. The conference was organized by members of the IBM Zurich Research Laboratory in cooperation with IACR, the International Association for Cr- tologic Research. Theconferencereceivedarecordnumberof206submissions,outofwhichthe program committee selected 36 for presentation at the conference (three papers were withdrawn by the authors shortly after submission). These proceedings contain revised versions of the accepted papers. These revisions have not been checked for correctness, and the authors bear full responsibility for the contents of their papers. The conference program also featured two invited talks. The ?rst one was the 2004 IACR Distinguished Lecture given by Whit?eld Di?e. The second invited talk was by Ivan Damg? ard who presented “Paradigms for Multiparty Computation. ” The traditional rump session with short informal talks on recent results was chaired by Arjen Lenstra. The reviewing process was a challenging task, and many good submissions had to be rejected. Each paper was reviewed independently by at least three members of the program committee, and papers co-authored by a member of the program committee were reviewed by at least six (other) members. The individual reviewing phase was followed by profound and sometimes lively d- cussions about the papers, which contributed a lot to the quality of the ?nal selection. Extensive comments were sent to the authors in most cases.
Crypto 2002, the 22nd Annual Crypto Conference, was sponsored by IACR, the International Association for Cryptologic Research, in cooperation with the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Security and Privacy and the Computer Science Department of the University of California at Santa Barbara. It is published as Vol. 2442 of the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) of Springer Verlag. Note that 2002, 22 and 2442 are all palindromes... (Don’t nod!) Theconferencereceived175submissions,ofwhich40wereaccepted;twos- missionsweremergedintoasinglepaper,yieldingthetotalof39papersaccepted for presentation in the technical program of the conference. In this proceedings volume you will ?nd the revised versions of the 39 papers that were presented at the conference. The submissions represent the current state of work in the cryptographic community worldwide, covering all areas of cryptologic research. In fact, many high-quality works (that surely will be published elsewhere) could not be accepted. This is due to the competitive nature of the conference and the challenging task of selecting a program. I wish to thank the authors of all submitted papers. Indeed, it is the authors of all papers who have made this conference possible, regardless of whether or not their papers were accepted. The conference program was also immensely bene?ted by two plenary talks.
EUROCRYPT 2001, the 20th annual Eurocrypt conference, was sponsored by the IACR, the International Association for Cryptologic Research, see http://www. iacr. org/, this year in cooperation with the Austrian Computer - ciety (OCG). The General Chair, Reinhard Posch, was responsible for local or- nization, and registration was handled by the IACR Secretariat at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In addition to the papers contained in these proceedings, we were pleased that the conference program also included a presentation by the 2001 IACR d- tinguished lecturer, Andrew Odlyzko, on “Economics and Cryptography” and an invited talk by Silvio Micali, “Zero Knowledge Has Come of Age. ” Furthermore, there was the rump session for presentations of recent results and other (p- sibly satirical) topics of interest to the crypto community, which Jean-Jacques Quisquater kindly agreed to run. The Program Committee received 155 submissions and selected 33 papers for presentation; one of them was withdrawn by the authors. The review process was therefore a delicate and challenging task for the committee members, and I wish to thank them for all the e?ort they spent on it. Each committee member was responsible for the review of at least 20 submissions, so each paper was carefully evaluated by at least three reviewers, and submissions with a program committee member as a (co-)author by at least six.

The 33 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 173 submissions.
