In each of our lives there are events taking place that cannot be easily explained. Many people have no idea that our lives are carefully planned and even orchestrated to accomplish divine purposes. Long before we are born, events take place that prepare us for the time we will come into this world to fulfill our purpose. This story is about a special child that will come into the world and his assigned angel will have to make sure he is cared for, however, his parents must first meet, fall in love and pave the way for this special child to be brought into this life. Before he is born and even after he is born there are evil forces manipulating people and circumstances to stop the destiny of this special child and the ministry he will lead. Children from all over the world, from many different cultures will convene on this small town and this special place. Not only does Hell try to stop this plan of God, but Hell uses powerful people to attack this ministry. In spite of these attacks, heaven is stronger and the heavenly hosts that protect the human heirs of salvation are always one step ahead. This story will encourage the believer to trust His Lord and not fear when things are not going the way they think they should. If we would only realize God is in control and he has an army of angels that are sent by him to protect his children, we will begin living a life of victory.
A personal account of a special assignment, known as a “stand-by”, given to Dr. George King by the Master Aetherius. During this time certain Members of The Great White Brotherhood were away from Earth receiving higher Initiations, and this necessitated certain Agents, including Dr. King, to be strategically placed throughout Earth in order to keep the Karmic balance as a protection for all of humanity.
In Special Assignments, Erast Fandorin, nineteenth-century Russia’s suavest sleuth, faces two formidable new foes: One steals outrageous sums of money, the other takes lives. “The Jack of Spades” is a civilized swindler who has conned thousands of rubles from Moscow’s residents–including Fandorin’s own boss, Prince Dolgorukoi. To catch him, Fandorin and his new assistant, timid young policeman Anisii Tulipov, must don almost as many disguises as the grifter does himself. “The Decorator” is a different case altogether: A savage serial killer who believes he “cleans” the women he mutilates and takes his orders from on high, he must be given Fandorin’s most serious attentions. Peopled by a rich cast of eccentric characters, and with plots that are as surprising as they are inventive, Special Assignments will delight Akunin’s many fans, while challenging the gentleman sleuth’s brilliant powers of detection. Praise from England: “Boris Akunin’s wit and invention are a source of constant wonder.” –Evening Standard “[Fandorin is] a debonair combo of Sherlock Holmes, D’Artagnan and most of the soulful heroes of Russian literature. . . . This pair of perfectly balanced stories permit the character of Fandorin to grow.” –The Sunday Telegraph “Agatha Christie meets James Bond: [Akunin’s] plots are intricate and tantalizing. . . . [These stories] are unputdownable and great fun.” –Sunday Express “The beguiling, super-brainy, sexy, unpredictable Fandorin is a creation like no other in crime fiction.” –The Times
Inspired by a real-life incident, this riveting novel explores the dangerous impact discrimination and antisemitism have on one community when a school assignment goes terribly wrong. Would you defend the indefensible? That's what seniors Logan March and Cade Crawford are asked to do when a favorite teacher instructs a group of students to argue for the Final Solution--the Nazi plan for the genocide of the Jewish people. Logan and Cade decide they must take a stand, and soon their actions draw the attention of the student body, the administration, and the community at large. But not everyone feels as Logan and Cade do--after all, isn't a school debate just a school debate? It's not long before the situation explodes, and acrimony and anger result. Based on true events, The Assignment asks: What does it take for tolerance, justice, and love to prevail? "An important look at a critical moment in history through a modern lens showcasing the power of student activism." --SLJ
