The third study expands the empirical approach of the second essay to investigate the history of food safety failures-outbreaks and recalls. Employing a Dynamic Panel Data model, results suggest the first lagged recalled amount is negatively related to current one and importantly that outbreak information affects the current recall only through the number of recalls.
