An ounce dissolved in water, and taken early in the morning, is a common, and by no means a bad way of using them. It is better to take this medicine in the morning, in preference to night, as it is often quick in its operation; and it may be observed, with respect to all salts, that they act mucli better, and with more ease to the patient, when dissolved in a considerable quantity of fluid, and taken in small doses, at short intervals, than when dissolved in as much water only as is sufficient for their solution, and swallowed all at one dose.
