In 2012 I began writing (and designing) short devotional pieces. We posted them on Instagram thinking that our friends and family would politely like them. But to our absolute shock, complete strangers liked them, too. A few years on, and here we are. I never dreamed that Pocket Fuel would turn into this practice and lead me to you. I'm forever grateful for it, no matter how rudimentary and humble our beginnings were. Not too long into our Instagram experiment, we found ourselves asking deeper questions around our faith. Everything we thought we knew; thought we had a handle on; thought was secure and for always; was challenged, questioned, and stripped bare. We experienced tragedy at home, and at work. We quit our jobs as Pastors, and started from scratch (faith and vocation) in our mid thirties. But through what felt like the death of all we thought we knew and would be, we found beauty and community. Our faith has a vibrancy that it was once devoid of. And our questions and doubts? I no-longer feel guilty for having them. They are an active part of my faith.

His world was water and rhythm. Hard work and drive kept Royal O'Connell one step ahead of his competition. His spot on the swim team, keeping his scholarship, was the only plan that mattered. His world was ebony and ivory. Natural talent and ambition set Camden Morgan apart from the other music majors. His dedication scoring him a full ride. Normally, their paths would have never crossed.... But when Royal meets his best friend's new roommate, his big plan and Camden's controlled environment faces a variable that could destroy it all. Attraction. The world they live in had no room for error. That undeniable pull between them was dangerous and neither one of them could've prepared for the choice they'd have to make. Love isn't always an easy road and, when everything they've worked for is on the line, they'll have to decide if being together is worth the risk.

The book that helped inspire Anthony Doerr’s All the Light We Cannot See An updated edition of this classic World War II memoir, chosen as one of the 100 Best Spiritual Books of the Twentieth Century, with a new photo insert and restored passages from the original French edition When Jacques Lusseyran was an eight-year-old Parisian schoolboy, he was blinded in an accident. He finished his schooling determined to participate in the world around him. In 1941, when he was seventeen, that world was Nazi-occupied France. Lusseyran formed a resistance group with fifty-two boys and used his heightened senses to recruit the best. Eventually, Lusseyran was arrested and sent to the Buchenwald concentration camp in a transport of two thousand resistance fighters. He was one of only thirty from the transport to survive. His gripping story is one of the most powerful and insightful descriptions of living and thriving with blindness, or indeed any challenge, ever published.
Is God still working miracles? He did for me, and He will for you. Then There Was Light is a journal form book about the last ten years of my life and some before. It explains how God moved in many forms and miracles in my life. How you, too, can receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord and live in victory instead of defeat. My book has a lot of God's Word in it (the Bible), which is the entire truth of all I've written. It will inspire and enlighten you and encourage you to live a prosperous and full life because God gives only good and perfect gifts.
For many young men, it is not until they strip away everything they've known that they can begin to live according to the morals and values they believe are truly their own. Some fall victim to poor judgment and an ingenuous trust in human nature that leads them to suffer deadly consequences. In 1970 a group of young American ex-pats from wealthy families dropped out of college and establish Rosebud Farm in Far North Queensland to establish their ideal society. When Charlie Dean, a headstrong farm resident for the past year, decides to leave and explore Southeast Asia, he and an Australian companion are captured by Laotian communists and held in a rainforest prison camp. In spite of the Dean family's efforts, both young men suffer an unthinkable fate.
