Rio Ferdinand is widely acknowledged as one of the most talented and skilful defenders in the world. His transfer from West Ham to Leeds was a British record at the time, a feat he achieved again with his subsequent move to Manchester United. Ferdinand's success on the pitch has been meteoric; including high drama in the Champions League, three World Cups and a dramatic Premiership victory. Here, for the very first time, Ferdinand reveals all about his infamous missed drugs test, the controversies surrounding both his transfers, his supposed reluctance to re-sign for United in 2005, the alleged tapping-up meeting with Chelsea's Peter Kenyon and various tabloid headlines involving partying and women.
How computer games can be designed to create ethically relevant experiences for players. Today's blockbuster video games—and their never-ending sequels, sagas, and reboots—provide plenty of excitement in high-resolution but for the most part fail to engage a player's moral imagination. In Beyond Choices, Miguel Sicart calls for a new generation of video and computer games that are ethically relevant by design. In the 1970s, mainstream films—including The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, Raging Bull, and Taxi Driver—filled theaters but also treated their audiences as thinking beings. Why can't mainstream video games have the same moral and aesthetic impact? Sicart argues that it is time for games to claim their place in the cultural landscape as vehicles for ethical reflection. Sicart looks at games in many manifestations: toys, analog games, computer and video games, interactive fictions, commercial entertainments, and independent releases. Drawing on philosophy, design theory, literary studies, aesthetics, and interviews with game developers, Sicart provides a systematic account of how games can be designed to challenge and enrich our moral lives. After discussing such topics as definition of ethical gameplay and the structure of the game as a designed object, Sicart offers a theory of the design of ethical game play. He also analyzes the ethical aspects of game play in a number of current games, including Spec Ops: The Line, Beautiful Escape: Dungeoneer, Fallout New Vegas, and Anna Anthropy's Dys4Ia. Games are designed to evoke specific emotions; games that engage players ethically, Sicart argues, enable us to explore and express our values through play.

As MVP tight end for the Rough Riders, I’m used to getting what I want. When I want. If my sexy as sin looks don’t seal the deal, my larger than life bankroll does. Plus, once women see what I’m packing below the belt, they always come back for more. And I’m happy to oblige, before sending them on their satisfied way. None of that matters now. My sights are set on a Super Bowl ring—kicking ass on the field and staying focused are my only options, getting distracted is not. Then Shannon Hale shows up and suddenly I’m fumbling like a rookie over the quarterback’s sassy little sister. She’s not like other women. Wants nothing to do with me... NFL’s resident playboy. The harder she pulls, the more I push. Now the only game I want to win involves getting her in my bed, but I still have one little problem. She’s very much off limits. Good thing I’ve learned when you’re playing for keeps, sometimes you have to play dirty.
Nicole Parsons had the perfect life, made complete with the suburban home and the proverbial white picket fence. When tragedy struck and she lost the most important people in her life, she turned away from everything she loved before; shutting out every reminder of the perfect life she lost. It has been one year, three months, one week and six days since the accident, and Nicole is ready to stop counting the days she’s survived, and begin living again. On a dare from her best friend, Nicole encounters Zack Walters - the popular alternative rock star and man who signifies so much of her past – and suddenly everything in Nicole’s safe and quiet life changes. When she’s forced to face the pain she’s carried for so long, will she truly be able to heal from her past and begin to live again? Or will her new adventure ruin her completely?
Two years ago, Mia had everything she thought she wanted. She loved her job, and her best friend Nicole was finally recovering from losing her family in a car accident. When they met rock star Zack Walters and given backstage pages for his concert in their hometown of Minneapolis, Mia had no idea she would get involved with the band’s drummer, Chase Harper. It was simple, fun, and exactly what Mia liked best – no strings attached. Then Chase decided to change the rules and Mia did what she’s always done best: she ran. Now she’s on her way to Los Angeles to help Nicole get ready for her wedding to Zack. The one thing she’s not looking forward to is seeing Chase again. With his sculpted muscles, strong hands and dark gray eyes that seem to know everything she’s thinking – Chase has the ability to make her forget. He also has the power to make her feel, something Mia refuses to let happen. When everything around Mia’s life begins to crumble, and she keeps all of her secrets tucked close and hidden away, Chase is the one who steps in to help. Because he has decided that he isn’t letting her go again. Not until she finally admits she’s his.
Tessa Chauncy is the best kind of trouble. Beautiful, sweet and completely off limits. I’ve sat by and watched other men drool after her and forced myself to stay in check. Hey, I’m in the NHL... I have self-control in spades. Except when it comes to her. With the bat of her lashes and quick whip of that sharply pointed tongue Tessa can knock grown men to their knees. I’ve seen them wither and crumble under her confident stare— something I’m pretty sure she learned from sparring with me, thankyouverymuch. But I’m not just falling for her. I’m down for the count. She’s the girl I wanted, when wanting her was wrong. She’s also my new roommate-- And oh yeah, my best friend’s little sister. Heaven help me, I’m probably going to get his fist to my face or his hockey stick shoved in very dangerous places for what I’m about to do, but I don’t think I care anymore. I’m in love with my best friend’s little sister….and I’m done waiting.
Set in the late 17th century United States, The Witch of Salem tells an incredible story about the madness of Salem and the history of the times. Cora Waters is the daughter of an indented slave, whose father was captured at the time of the overthrow of the Duke of Monmouth. Together with Charles Stevens of Salem, she is the protagonist of the story, whose main villain is Samuel Parris, the chief actor in the Salem tragedy, a person of fierce ambition that led him to deeds of atrocity unsurpassed. He had scarce a redeeming feature. His religion was hypocrisy, superstition, revenge and bigotry.
