Another dachshund tale about one rescued dachshund bent upon mischief as he travels, his rescued friends and their stories, and his new brother, also a rescued dachshund. Schultz is the storyteller if one uses a smidgen of imagination. Everyday is a new adventure for Schultz, whether he's home on Vashon Island in Puget Sound in Washington state or sniffing the air while passing through new territory. Stubbornness, playfulness and a talent for mischief are part of his personality, the thread of his story. His tale is about his coming to Vashon Island, his new-found family and his pet primate, Marilyn. Schultz introduces some of his favorite rescued friends midway through the book. Each one tells a heart-warming story of a dachsie abandoned, deserted, lost, or caught in a mischievous moment or two. All of the stories are based on true incidents.

This book draws upon domestication science to undertake a radical reappraisal of the jurisprudence of property and intellectual property. Bringing together animal studies and legal philosophy, it articulates a critique of dominant property models and relationships from the perspective of cognitive ethology, domestication science and animal behaviour. In doing so, a radical new picture of property emerges. Focusing on the emergence of property models through prevailing ideas of human domestication and settlement, the book challenges the anthropocentrism that informs standard approaches to ownership and to authorship. Utilising a wide range of examples from ethology and animal studies, the book thus rethinks the very nature of property as uniquely human. This highly original contribution to the fields of property and intellectual property will appeal not only to legal scholars in these areas, as well as in animal law, but also to legal theorists and others working in the social sciences with interests in posthumanism and animal studies.

Ryder Daniels is all too familiar with rejection. His parents cut off contact because he’s gay and his boyfriend left him, choosing drugs over love. Aside from his rescued pit bull, his only joy is hanging out with his younger brother. Then his mother does the unthinkable and forbids them to see each other, leaving Ryder devastated and alone. His friends urge him to date, but Ryder would rather throw himself into working at the dog rescue and figuring out a way to see his brother again. When Jason Mallory’s girlfriend gives him an ultimatum to get married, he shocks everyone by breaking up with her instead. He believes he's too busy for a relationship now that the construction company he started with his brother is taking off. When he discovers a group of abandoned pit bulls and calls the local dog rescue group to pick them up, an uncomfortable encounter with Ryder causes Jason to question feelings he’s hidden deep inside for years. Jason and Ryder build a friendship, until an unexpected kiss sparks the attraction they’ve been fighting. Jason gives Ryder unconditional love and helps him reconnect with his brother while Ryder shows Jason the passion he’s always missed in relationships. Together they must battle through their family differences and ugly prejudices. Only then can they prove that once you find the right person to love, there’s no turning back. This is a re-release of the original edition published in 2014. It has brand new content as well as the entire book being revised.
