This is the second instalment in the romantic suspense trilogy of the continuing tale of romantic introductions that began with Weekend Attractions. The story continues with new strangers meeting and discovering one another, but brings back some old friends from the first installment, as it once again sweeps you on a light hearted journey of passion, mixed with a measure of fear as you become lost in the dream that takes place during a weekend of encounters. With the weekend approaching, Mindy Mansfield found herself in an unexpected predicament. Her compunction for spontaneity would leave her regretful now as she stood alone on the adrift skyscraper, drinking champagne from a mug. She didn’t care what vessel the numbing fluid was distributed from, just that it was indeed delivered. Meeting a handsome, mysterious stranger during her spur of the moment cruise was unexpected. Lance Pritchett was the last person that she needed during her time of remorse but he relentlessly pursued her. His smug southern charm was no match for her quick, sultry wit. Taking Mindy for granted would be Lance‘s first mistake. His second would prove to be more costly and challenge his ability to win her over. Mindy’s friend, Jamie Lynn Mesner would be a crucial deciding factor as to the direction their paths would take.

A powerful imagining by two Native creators of a first encounter between two very different people that celebrates our ability to acknowledge difference and find common ground. Based on the real journal kept by French explorer Jacques Cartier in 1534, Encounter imagines a first meeting between a French sailor and a Stadaconan fisher. As they navigate their differences, the wise animals around them note their similarities, illuminating common ground. This extraordinary imagining by Brittany Luby, Professor of Indigenous History, is paired with stunning art by Michaela Goade, winner of 2018 American Indian Youth Literature Best Picture Book Award. Encounter is a luminous telling from two Indigenous creators that invites readers to reckon with the past, and to welcome, together, a future that is yet unchartered.
Many managers face the challenge of monitoring rates of visitor encounters in wilderness. This study (1) provides estimates of encounter rates through use of several monitoring methods, (2) determines the relationship between the various measures of encounter rates, and (3) determines the relationship between various indirect predictors of encounter rates and actual encounter rates. Exit surveys, trip diaries, wilderness ranger observations, trained observers, mechanical counters, trailhead count observations, and parking lot vehicle counts were used to develop better understanding of the relationship between these various monitoring methods. The monitoring methods were tested at Alpine Lakes Wilderness in Washington. Encounter rates differed dramatically from weekdays to weekend days at high-use places studied. Estimates of encounter rates also varied substantially across methods used. Rather than conclude what method is best, this report seeks to help the manager decide which method is most appropriate for use in a particular wilderness, given the issues being addressed. It should also help alleviate some of the problems managers have in prescribing monitoring systems, by forcing more precise definition of indicators.

This is a motivational inspirational book about one woman's life journey. It is her personal walk with Christ through significant life trials and how she used what she learned to help others in their own trials. The book is full of excitement and emotion that will keep you on the edge of your seat and versatile enough to cover a multitude of topics and demographics. Everyone goes through hardships and trials. In fact, we spend the majority of our life journey attempting to either resolve or avoid these struggles. However, it is not the depth of the situation that determines our ability to successfully walk through them, it is our mindset. We must believe we can do it. More than that, we must have a willingness to be active participants in our victories, no matter how small our effort, and accept help from the outside to achieve each victory. In this book, the outside help is referred to as silver linings. I hope this book helps you to identify your own silver linings as a life-line to get you through your struggles.
This text presents the work of 21 eminent psychoanalysts and child therapists from three continents - including Professors Didier Houzel of France and Renata Gaddini of Italy; Drs. David Rosenfeld of Argentina, James Grotstein, Victoria Hamilton, Judith Mitrani and Thomas Ogden of the USA; and Susanna Isaacs-Elmhirst and Isca Wittenberg of England - who explore and expand upon the work of the late Frances Tustin, which was devoted to the psychoanalytic understanding of the bewildering elemental world of the autistic child. Her realization that neurotic and borderline patients are haunted by the same primeval forces which constitute an enclave of autism has been profound, and the notion that autistic manoeuvres serve as a protective shell against the terrifying premature awareness of bodily separateness and dissolution into nothingness has had a substantial impact upon the re-thinking of many notable workers in the mental health field.
An investigation into abductions by extra-terrestrial beings: captivating accounts from the edge of the universe. In recent years sightings of unidentified flying objects have received more traction and public attention than ever before, with an increasing dialogue surrounding the UFO phenomenon. However, what has received less attention in popular culture and media is the sinister world of alien abductions. Warren Agius’ trailblazing second title focuses on the many case studies of close encounters with extra-terrestrial beings, delving deeper into the ways in which they have been observing and experimenting on human beings for decades. Agius’ work is not indented to convince the sceptical reader of the plausibility of alien encounters. Rather, through his thorough research and compelling prose, Agius presents readers with carefully considered case studies of abductions, complete with each individuals background, other plausible hypotheses and supporting evidence for each theory, allowing the reader to come to their own conclusions about alien abductions. The first section of the book looks at close encounters of the third kind, which relate to cases where the individual was not abducted but was in close proximity to or witnessed an extra-terrestrial entity. The second section moves on to explore a number of actual alien abductions. The book also includes information on Hynek’s UFO classification scale. Close Encounters illuminates a complex yet pertinent phenomenon, which has spiritual, philosophical and existential implications for the human race as a whole. Ultimately, this book is a thrilling and captivating invitation for readers to consider the infinite universe we inhabit, and what it might mean for us to share such a space with other intelligent and conscious lifeforms.
