Subjects covered in this file include the causes of German defeat in the Second World War; the Soviet Union's post-war interests and intentions in Europe and the Middle East; Soviet activities in Iran; the defence of Hong Kong against a possible Chinese invasion; Soviet recruitment of German scientists; information sharing with Turkey, Sweden, and the United Nations; the security implications of releasing reports on operations in the Second World War; and the future development of biological, chemical, and atomic weaponry by various powers.
