Invexity and Optimization presents results on invex function and their properties in smooth and nonsmooth cases, pseudolinearity and eta-pseudolinearity. Results on optimality and duality for a nonlinear scalar programming problem are presented, second and higher order duality results are given for a nonlinear scalar programming problem, and saddle point results are also presented. Invexity in multiobjective programming problems and Kuhn-Tucker optimality conditions are given for a multiobjecive programming problem, Wolfe and Mond-Weir type dual models are given for a multiobjective programming problem and usual duality results are presented in presence of invex functions. Continuous-time multiobjective problems are also discussed. Quadratic and fractional programming problems are given for invex functions. Symmetric duality results are also given for scalar and vector cases.

This volume contains the proceedings of ICTAC 2005, the second ICTAC, International Colloquium on Theoretical Aspects of Computing. ICTAC 2005 took place in Hanoi, Vietnam, October 17–21, 2005. ICTAC was founded by the International Institute for Software Technology of the United Nations University (UNU-IIST) to serve as a forum for practiti- ers, lecturers and researchers from academia, industry and government who are interested in theoretical aspects of computing and rigorous approaches to so- ware engineering. The colloquium is aimed particularly, but not exclusively, at participants from developing countries. We believe that this will help developing countries to strengthen their research, teaching and development in computer science and engineering, improve the links between developing countries and developed countries, and establish collaboration in research and education. Global optimization aims at solving the most general problems of deterministic mathematical programming: to find the global optimum of a nonlinear, nonconvex, multivariate function of continuous and/or integer variables subject to constraints which may be themselves nonlinear and nonconvex. In addition, once the solutions are found, proof of its optimality is also expected from this methodology. Therefore, with these difficulties in mind, global optimization is becoming an increasingly powerful and important methodology.
