Vaidehi, an 80s bride, takes us through a tyrannical face of patriarchy, that is her life, and how she is able to live, love and find happiness despite her often unbearable circumstances. As she becomes a mother to twins - a boy and a girl - her spirit to ensure fails, as she sees the possibility of history repeating itself with her daughter's life. As her journey of feminism starts, she often fails in the face of society, making her daughter question her, in an ironical turn of events. Maya is a millennial and revels in a sense of freedom that modern marriages commonly offer - until she is faced with a more passive-aggressive face of patriarchy and she's met with a demeaning treatment. As the silence of endurance that she has inherited from her mother and her exposure to feminism clash within her, her mind wanders outside of her marriage. As Maya and Vaidehi's lives intersect, questions and confrontations explode and die out in the generational chasm that create everlasting rifts and regrets, which women live with.
Advaita Vedanta is the most pervasive and enduring Indian perspective, and continues to be the most challenging and provocative philosophic position the world over. This study undertakes an analysis of the epistemological issues inherent in the Advaita Vedanta theory of the knowing and the known.
This Dictionary includes the vocubulary of Post-Vedic literature wuth emphasis on philosophical, grammatical and rhetorical terms. Further this is the only handy dictionary of its kind which breaks a word into its mponenet parts and refers to the roots deducible from sanskrit derivatives alone by way of comparative derivatives alone by way of comparative philosogical analysis. The work is therefore highly useful for the etymological analysis and linguistic training.

Ancient writing systems employ logographic and logophonetic principles playing on the relationship between writing, script and scribal learning. The workshop proceedings published in this volume explore the way these relationships encode knowledge and meaning reflected in the social, historical and cultural mentality of the early peoples of East Asia (China and Japan), Anatolia, the Aegean, Egypt and Mesoamerica. The meeting was organized in the FU Berlin on the fall of 2010 by the editor and Dr. Renata Landgrafova (now Charles University, Prague) in the frame of the DFG research training group 1458 "Notational Iconicity" ("Schriftbildlichkeit") headed by Prof. Eva Cancik-Kirschbaum and Prof. Sybille Kramer. The premise of our meeting was that script and the organization of texts can reveal how knowledge is transformed and transmitted among different social groups across time and space, and eventually standardized as written tradition. Its multidisciplinary approach follows recent trends in the attempt to arouse debate between scholars of disparate systems of writing - be it Cuneiform, Hieroglyphic or Linear in nature - and to discuss their elements independent of origin or cultural context. A broad perspective on ancient writing and its visual elements was established with the contributions delving into the aspects of generating knowledge and meaning (J. Janak, M. Weeden), categorizing knowledge (E. Boot, T. W. Kwan, H. Tomas), diffusion and transformation of knowledge (Sh. Gordin, R. Landgrafova) and rationalizing knowledge (E. Birk).
