University of Minnesota Studies in Economics and Business were published continually beginning in the 1930s until the 1960s. The university presents the results of their findings as an aid to the solution of pressings social and economic problems.This collection is comprised of bulletins nine through thirteen, published between 1934 and 1935, focuses on the economic interests of business and industry. Topics include: A History of Taxation in Minnesota; Consumption and Merchandising under the National Industrial Recovery Act; The Economic Effects of the National Industrial Recovery Act; The Retail Distribution Structure of the Small City; and Fees and Other Non-Tax Revenues of Minnesota Local Units. Also included is a publication of the University of Minnesota’s Employment Stabilization Research Institute entitled, Scientific Management: An Aid to Industrial Control.
