From the acclaimed author of the beloved Angelina Ballerina series comes a delightful picture book about a feisty fairy named Twinkle! Twinkle is just starting to learn her spells in fairy school, and she can’t seem to understand that what comes naturally for all the other fairies-in-training is a bit of a struggle for her. With spells going sideways and frustration running high, this sweet, triumphant story about persistence is perfect for parents to share with their little ones who are learning new skills.
In Edgeley, South Dakota, two children, Twinkle and Chubbins, explore the natural world and observe as Policeman Bluejay enforces the laws of the birds in an orderly forest world threatened only by the wanton destructiveness of man.

A delightful tale by Laura Bancroft (the pen name for L. Frank Baum - The Wonderful Wizzard of Oz) is an adorable story from The Twinkle Tales Collection. Short chapters make this ideal for bedtime reading to the very young with illustrations by famed illustrator Maginel Wright Enright (sister to Frank Lloyd Wright) that bring the animals to life. Recommended by The Gunston Trust for Nonviolence in Children's Literature. Ages 3-8.
The Twinkle Tales is a 1905 series by L. Frank Baum, published under the pen name Laura Bancroft. The six stories were issued in separate booklets by Baum's publisher Reilly & Britton, with illustrations by Maginel Wright Enright. In 1911, the six eight-chapter stories were collected as Twinkle and Chubbins; Their Astonishing Adventures in Nature-Fairyland — which is a misnomer, since Chubbins appears in only two stories and few are set in "Nature-Fairyland". The book was followed by Policeman Bluejay, which was retitled Babes in Birdland for its second edition.
