Para abordar la Educación Virtualizada se deben identificar un mínimo de tres etapas que inciden en el efectivo tratamiento de esta modalidad de estudios, la primera y segunda de ellas son, el diseño y desarrollo de la instrucción, las cuales indican el diseño de la experiencia de autogestión del aprendizaje, el sistema de apoyo para garantizar el aprendizaje del participante y la relación que debe existir entre cada uno de los elementos que componen el proceso instruccional y el desarrollo de cada uno de esos elementos tratados en el diseño, la tercera etapa y no menos importante que las anteriores se encuentra la etapa de administración del proceso instruccional, cuyo proceso aborda desde las competencias que debe poseer el docente mediador de la instrucción para garantizar la efectiva administración de la instrucción virtualizada.
El presente trabajo de investigacion muestra una innovadora propuesta para los profesores universitarios que deseen incursionar en la ensenanza a distancia bajo la figura del tutor virtual. En el se desarrollan diversos topicos que abarcan todos los conocimientos basicos necesarios sobre estrategias y herramientas para ser usadas en la ensenanza bajo esta modalidad. La propuesta se desarrollo bajo el metodo de proyecto factible, obteniendo como resultado un curso en linea soportado en el sistema de gestion de aprendizaje de codigo abierto Moodle. Esta propuesta y su producto final representan un recurso mas para profundizar en el necesario proceso de alfabetizacion digital que permita a nuestros docentes utilizar adecuada y efectivamente las tecnologias de informacion y comunicacion (TIC) en los procesos de ensenanza aprendizaje."
This volume of essays from leading British, North American and Australasian contributors looks at the issues of the convergence of distance and conventional education. The term 'convergence' refers to the breaking down of barriers between open and distance learning and conventional institutions, and the creation of more and more institutions working across a range of modes. Such convergence has been driven by a number of factors, including the new technologies for teaching and learning, the impact of lifelong learning policies, the entry of larger than ever numbers of adult part-time students into tertiary education, and the demands of both employers and individuals for professional and work-related education throughout their working lives. The fourteen chapters engage critically with a range of aspects of convergence, including: * how well is open and distance learning carried out by conventional institutions for which it may continue for a lengthy period to be seen as of secondary importance? * to what extent will open and distance learning be more effectively carried out by conventional institutions able to offer a variety of modes to a wide range of learners? * how well will the variety of learners be served by systems that are converging? * what are the managerial issues at institutional level where converging systems are being developed?
This book presents the proceedings of International Conference on Knowledge Society: Technology, Sustainability and Educational Innovation (TSIE 2019). The conference, which was held at UTN in Ibarra, Ecuador, on 3–5 July 2019, allowed participants and speakers to share their research and findings on emerging and innovative global issues. The conference was organized in collaboration with a number of research groups: Group for the Scientific Research Network (e-CIER); Research Group in Educational Innovation and Technology, University of Salamanca, Spain(GITE-USAL); International Research Group for Heritage and Sustainability (GIIPS), and the Social Science Research Group (GICS). In addition, it had the endorsement of the RedCLARA, e-science, Fidal Foundation, Red CEDIA, IEEE, Microsoft, Business IT, Adobe, and Argo Systems. The term “knowledge society” can be understood as the management, understanding and co-creation of knowledge oriented toward the sustainable development and positive transformation of society. In this context and on the occasion of the XXXIII anniversary of the Universidad Técnica del Norte (UTN), the Postgraduate Institute through its Master of Technology and Educational Innovation held the I International Congress on Knowledge Society: Technology, Sustainability and Educational Innovation – TSIE 2019, which brought together educators, researchers, academics, students, managers, and professionals, from both the public and private sectors to share knowledge and technological developments. The book covers the following topics: 1. curriculum, technology and educational innovation; 2. media and education; 3. applied computing; 4. educational robotics. 5. technology, culture, heritage, and tourism development perspectives; and 6. biodiversity and sustainability.
E-Research teaches students how to become both active practitioners and informed consumers of Net-based research, its tools, and its techniques. E-Research takes the learner through the complete research process from problem formulation, through literature review, ethics approval, quantitative and qualitative data gathering and analysis, to dissemination and publication. This text is written in clear, nontechnical language with educational research examples, illustrating how each of these components of the research process changes in a Net-enabled context. Every professional is obliged to understand and, in most cases, master the use of tools of their trade even when those tools are undergoing rapid evolution. E-Research is not a research methods text. Rather, it begins where standard methdology texts end, by focusing on when and how to use the Internet to enhance the research process.
Based on twenty case studies of universities worldwide, and on a survey administered to leaders in 101 universities, this open access book shows that, amidst the significant challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, universities found ways to engage with schools to support them in sustaining educational opportunity. In doing so, they generated considerable innovation, which reinforced the integration of the research and outreach functions of the university. The evidence suggests that universities are indeed open systems, in interaction with their environment, able to discover changes that can influence them and to change in response to those changes. They are also able, in the success of their efforts to mitigate the educational impact of the pandemic, to create better futures, as the result of the innovations they can generate. This challenges the view of universities as "ivory towers" being isolated from the surrounding environment and detached from local problems. As they reached out to schools, universities not only generated clear and valuable innovations to sustain educational opportunity and to improve it, this process also contributed to transform internal university processes in ways that enhanced their own ability to deliver on the third mission of outreach
