Book Three, "The Yellow Rose" from "Falling, Dancing, Flying" a trilogy, a story inspired by actual events, an allegory of a journey of Individuation. The trilogy chronicles the alchemical transformation of Mary Bernard and her search for enlightenment. A story within a story told through her journal passages, letters, reminiscences, dialogue, and dreams. A deeply spiritual story taking the reader magnificently into the bright light of enlightenment while not fearing the shadow of that light. The story looks intently at the complexities of Lesbian love and does not shy away from those complexities. Book Three, "The Yellow Rose" Mary Bernard travels on board the QEII to England to be with her spiritual master. Ill during the passage across the Atlantic, she is gravely ill when the QEII arrives in Southampton, England. She is taken to a London hospital, where it is determined that she must be returned to the United States immediately. Much to her dismay, she is put on a plane and flown to Boston where she is hospitalized. Deep in the death throes of the Citrinitas, her disease is finally stabilized, but in denial about her disease, she decides to go home to Colorado. Amid the rubble of her life and the profound depression caused by her disease, and not seeing her spiritual master, Mary falls in love for a third and final time.
