In this book, the fundamental knowledge involved in petroleum & gas development engineering, such as physical and chemical phenomena, physical processes and the relationship between physical factors is covered. It is arranged into 3 Sections. Section 1 including chapter 1-4 is to introduce the properties of fluids (gases, hydrocarbon liquids, and aqueous solutions). Section II including Chapter 5-7 is to introduce the porous rock properties of reservoir rocks. Section III including Chapter 8-10 is to introduce the mechanism of multiphase fluid flow in porous medium. The book is written primarily to serve professionals working in the petroleum engineering field. It can also be used as reference book for postgraduate and undergraduate students as well for the related oil fields in petroleum geology, oil production engineering, reservoir engineering and enhancing oil recovery.
This book includes the papers presented at the II International Applied Research Conference “Operations and Project Management: Strategies and Trends” and the International Research Conference “Management in Financial Economy” held in Rostov-on-Don on May 19–20, 2021 within the framework of the South Russia Business Education Forum. The articles included in the book present a comprehensive analysis of the problems of adaptation of traditional and new methods of operational and project management, development of technologies for business process and supply chain management, development trends in financial economy discussed both on a global scale and in the context of sustainable socio-economic development at the meso-level of regions and industries, which not only reveals the nature of the ongoing processes, but also demonstrates their specifics in industry, agriculture, service industry in Russia, CIS countries, Europe, and China. Particular attention is paid to business education in the new economic realities. The polemical focus of the above-mentioned issues in conjunction with the accuracy of the presented analytics makes it possible to come to unconventional, though practically realizable solutions.

This is an open access book.Financial globalization plays a huge role in promoting the development of the world economy and the optimal allocation of world resources, stimulates the accelerated development of the international division of labor, and increases the international flow of production factors such as industrial transfer, capital transfer, and technology transfer. It enables developing countries to make up for the lack of their own capital and technology, and obtain industrial evolution, technological progress, and institutional innovation, thereby accelerating the speed of economic development; it also enables developed countries to open up cheap labor, raw material markets and broad consumer markets, prolonging product value. More profits, ease the economy, the contradiction of stagflation, and restore economic growth. The 8th International Conference on Financial Innovation and Economic Development (ICFIED 2023) aims to accommodate this need, as well as to: 1. provide a platform for experts and scholars, engineers and technicians in the field of financial Innovation and economic development to share scientific research achievements and cutting-edge technologies 2. Understand academic development trends, broaden research ideas, strengthen academic research and discussion, and promote the industrialization cooperation of academic achievements 3. Promote the institutionalization and standardization of Financial Innovation and Economic Development through modern research 4. Increasing the number of scientific publications for financial Innovation and economic development
Integrating basic theory with practical real-world designs, this second edition covers all aspects of design and building with wood. While retaining many unique features from the highly successful first edition, new additions have been incorporated to reflect recent advances in the field, including the adoption of the LRFD code. This comprehensive text not only contains update on the ASD methods but also provides an explanation of the new LRFD methods, plus solved problems and examples in each section to reflect its application among all areas of designing with wood. This is the only book currently available that contains both the ASD and LRFD methods.
Gas reservoir engineering is the branch of reservoir engineering that deals exclusively with reservoirs of non-associated gas. The prime purpose of reservoir engineering is the formulation of development and production plans that will result in maximum recovery for a given set of economic, environmental and technical constraints. This is not a one-time activity but needs continual updating throughout the production life of a reservoir. The objective of this book is to bring together the fundamentals of gas reservoir engineering in a coherent and systematic manner. It is intended both for students who are new to the subject and practitioners, who may use this book as a reference and refresher. Each chapter can be read independently of the others and includes several, completely worked exercises. These exercises are an integral part of the book; they not only illustrate the theory but also show how to apply the theory to practical problems. Chapters 2, 3 and 4 are concerned with the basic physical properties of reservoirs and natural gas fluids, insofar as of relevance to gas reservoir engineering. Chapter 5 deals with the volumetric estimation of hydrocarbon fluids in-place and the recoverable hydrocarbon reserves of gas reservoirs. Chapter 6 presents the material balance method, a classic method for the analysis of reservoir performance based on the Law of Conservation of Mass. Chapters 7-10 discuss various aspects of the flow of natural gas in the reservoir and the wellbore: single phase flow in porous and permeable media; gaswell testing methods based on single-phase flow principles; the mechanics of gas flow in the wellbore; the problem of water coning, the production of water along with the gas in gas reservoirs with underlaying bottom water. Chapter 11 discusses natural depletion, the common development option for dry and wet gas reservoirs. The development of gas-condensate reservoirs by gas injection is treated in Chapter 12. Appendix A lists the commonly used units in gas reservoir engineering, along with their conversion factors. Appendix B includes some special physical and mathematical constants that are of particular interest in gas reservoir engineering. Finally, Appendix C contains the physical properties of some common natural-gas components.
