William Crunk Jennings (1762-1839), possibly the grandson of Miles Jennings (d.1760) of Halifax County, Virginia, served in the Revolutionary War, married twice, and lived in Gibson County, Tennessee. William is descended from Joshaua Jennings (ca. 1620 - 1675), who was born in England and came to America probably between 1630 and 1640, married Mary Williams in Hartford, Connecticut in 1647 and died at Fairfield, Connecticut in 1675. Descendants and relatives lived in Connecticut, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Indiana and elsewhere.
