The Toff gallantly rescues, first one, and then each, of three spoiled, beautiful, and rich triplets. ‘The Toff’ receives a telephone call from an enticing girl and as a result sets off to rescue her. Back at his apartment he meets an identical person! The following morning there is a knock on the door, and there she is again! What is going on and why is he involved? This is the start of a hair-raising adventure worthy of his undoubted talents.
Will Hall had been kidnapped and the Honourable Richard Rollison, known by the apt if absurd soubriquet of The 'Toff' is soon on the scene, but not before a murdered man falls into Valerie Hall's arms. Action and a rich private eye and the NYPD all on the case, with the Toff tracking Dutch Himmy, surely the worst man in New York . . . .
In an unusual case, the Honourable Richard Rollison (aka ‘The Toff’) finds himself investigating a series of frauds in the art world of Paris, including the use of counterfeit currency. Not all is as it seems, however, and it is not long before the investigation widens to one of murder. Can ‘The Toff’ succeed where others might fail?
The Toff is faced with danger, but from a very unusual source. To prevent him from connecting a body found in the park with a young girl who is seemingly a target for a murder attempt, the killer unleashes an attack using deadly scorpions, snakes and poisonous spiders. Moreover, one of ‘The Toff’s’ best and oldest friends is suspected.
The Honourable Richard Rollison (aka ‘The Toff’) finds that his aunt has invested a large sum of money in a fortune-teller named ‘Madame Melinska’. It is clearly a racket, and he believes it is a bit too close to home and sets off to investigate. Little does he realise the danger involved, and that there is much more at stake – including murder!
‘The Toff’ had been playing rugby and is about to return to London when he discovers a woman in the back seat of his car. She was apparently determined to meet him. A curious story then emerged as to why Alice Hellier was frightened for the safety of her playboy cousin, and The Toff becomes caught up in a desperate financial plot.
At the famous London waxworks museum there was a model of the ‘The Toff’, albeit in the Chamber of Horrors. The Toff viewed the blonde artist, Daffodil, as a brainless sexpot. The model was then damaged, Daffodil disappeared, the museum was in uproar, and the Toff was involved with some quite unpredictable girls – and death!
‘The Toff’ is involved in a case involving an inheritance and a search for a lost relative. Then, the aunt of the beautiful heiress is found murdered and the trail leads to him travelling to Australia. There, the mystery deepens and there is clearly significant danger. An exciting finish to the hunt brings this adventure to a surprising finale.
It’s a time of shortage and rationing. The Toff is in the army, but gets permission to visit his aunt who is supposedly on her death bed. Had she died, things would have been different, but as it was a recovery led to an investigation of the black market and wholesale murder, with both ‘The Toff’ and Scotland Yard battling those involved.
