John Thomas Stampe was born in 1603, son of Timothie Stampe and Marie Gunner. He immigrated to Virginia in 1635. Descendants lived in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Maryland, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Colorado, Alabama, Mississippi, Kansas, Arkansas, Kentucky, California, and elsewhere.
