This is Michael McInerney's first novel, part one and two. It takes the reader on a journey through an evolving past, present and future. In a tale that spans the life of Melinda. A tormented child who is the victim of her father Jason. He is determined to prevent the destiny of her child Jonathan. This novel is a prophetic look into history man has yet to travel. A glimpse into the direction in which man can chose to go. A decision everyman has to make for themselves. A choice of good or evil, and these characters have clearly made their decision.
The Right Frame of Mind provides a way of thinking and a story where the experiences range from being wrongfully incarcerated out of envy and hate, living on the streets while running an app, negotiating massive business deals, and finishing an engineering degree. The story also includes Fortune 500 executives courting the author, and the author facing the most extreme forms of suffering. It's a great story shared to show others that no matter what happens in life, there's always a light at the end of it all. The author also experienced miracle-like events dealing with a hurricane, an earthquake, and more. And the author shares the mindset, perspective, and techniques on it all. Furthermore, secrets of the mind and ways to bend reality are beautiful discussed and linked to not only the author's experiences but also to the greats throughout history. The author somehow steps vividly into the shoes of the past greats and explains their mindsets and the patterns that mark all their behaviors as if they were his past lives. This is a must read for anyone who desires an empowering, extremely entertaining, and mind shattering perspective that may very well be the truth of life.
Do you have a healthy mental attitude and a positive outlook on life? Good for you. This means you are in the right frame of mind. But if you don’t, this means you are in the left frame of mind, and this is not so good. The left frame of mind is the wrong frame of mind. It means you have a Leftist Brain. And having a Leftist Brain means you are doomed to languish wretchedly in the left frame of mind mindset forever. Sorry. I don’t make up the rules. And life isn’t fair. That’s right. Once a Leftist Brain, always a Leftist Brain. And although leftist brains may come in a wide variety of flavors, historical classifications and toxicity, there is no fundamental difference between a Soviet communist Leftist Brain and a Wisconsin Democrat Leftist Brain. It is merely a matter of degree of Leftist Brain brainedness. For you see in the final analysis, all leftist brains share the following three basic characteristics: 1) Collectivism is good, individualism is bad. The Leftist Brain hungers for overprotective parental government promoting childlike dependency. It expects the State to run or regulate everything, from daycare to retirement. It doesn’t care that this cradle-to-grave infantilization undermines individuals’ freedoms, subverts their self-reliance and deters their self-determination. As long as assurance is given that this is being done in the name of “equality,” a wonderful sounding ideal that doesn’t exist in nature, all is forgiven. 2) Coercion is superior to voluntary cooperation. The Leftist Brain is magically drawn to policies and systems that restrict the individual’s freedom to choose. It does not trust voluntary action or believe in spontaneous order through mutual agreement because it does not understand human nature. Nor does it feel comfortable letting unique individuals (also known as “the masses”) decide things for themselves. They might not have “the greater good” in mind. This is why the Leftist Brain restricts free choice at every opportunity. This is why it is always prepared to call for government coercion. For the Leftist Brain, “the ends justify the means” and it only respects the rule of law if it is “interpreted” in the way it deems fit. 3) Sense of mission. The Leftist Brain sees itself as a chosen one “on the right side of history.” It is superior to ordinary brains that can never enjoy this higher, enlightened status. Believing this serves the psychological function of bolstering what is typically the weak self-esteem of a brain that is ungenerous and therefore unhappy. Its feigned altruism hides a lack of empathy that often leads to pronounced narcissist tendencies. Unchecked, these tendencies eventually lead to nihilism (narcissism and nihilism being functionally equivalent). This helps explain why the Leftist Brain is always so eager to resort to hysterical outbursts, violence and destruction. So, here we are. Unfortunately. We now live in a Leftist Brain world. They are in control, I am sorry to say. And this world is of course very far from the world the framers of the Constitution originally intended. Instead of thriving in a political system that protects individual liberties through the exercise of negative rights (don’t do this, don’t do that), the Leftist Brain’s eternal quest for its arbitrary “greater good” means we must endure coercive government direction through the exercise of positive rights (do this, do that). We must do as we are told, in other words. We are now indentured servants to the State. The following is a collection of thoughts and observations about the nature of the Leftist Brain, and our captivity. Most of them are meant to be humorous, although it cannot be denied that this type of humor may be seen as a subversive, bitter form of humor that is often cynical rather than laugh-out-loud funny. This is because it is a subversive, bitter form of humor that is often cynical rather than laugh-out-loud funny. Have a nice day anyway.

A riveting and dramatic account of a battle to reach the top in sport and a warning that -- no matter how successful you are -- you never know what's around the corner. When Graeme Dott won the World Snooker Championship in 2006 it should have been the highlight of his career. But Alex Lambie, his mentor and father-in-law, had cancer and only had months to live. At the end of 2006 Alex died; incredibly Dott's snooker went from strength to strength, but away from the table things were a different story. Dott's wife Elaine suffered a cancer scare and despite being given the all-clear she lost the baby she was carrying. As things went from bad to worse Dott was unwittingly suffering with severe depression, and eventually he slipped down the rankings. In 2010, having faced his demons, he reached the final of the 2010 World Championship. In this inspirational autobiography Graeme talks for the first time about his depression and how he managed to turn his life around. He describes in detail growing up in one of the toughest parts of Glasgow, his snooker career and the role Alex Lambie played in making his dreams come true.
Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) is an approach to counselling and psychotherapy in which great emphasis is placed on how attitudes are at the root of emotional problems and their solution. The first edition of Reason to Change was written as a one-of-a-kind workbook teaching the practical skills of REBT. In this updated edition, Windy Dryden teaches, in a very specific way, the skills needed to use this therapeutic approach in practice in a thorough and accessible way. Each skill is explained in detail, and examples are given of how each skill can be put into practice. These skills include: developing a problem list and setting goals choosing a target problem and assessing a specific example examining attitudes dealing with your doubts, reservations and objections taking action. By using these skills in an active way, it can be possible to address effectively emotional problems such as anxiety, depression, shame, guilt, hurt, unhealthy anger, unhealthy jealousy and unhealthy envy. This book can be used by people on their own, and by those who are consulting an REBT therapist. It will also be of interest to therapists and counsellors.

The magazine that helps career moms balance their personal and professional lives.
Christianity is more than just a religion. It is a social organism that affects the lives of every person on earth in significant ways, even if they are not Christians themselves. In the United States its influence is pervasive with often profound influence on public policies, but it is largely unchallenged as a belief system, relegated to that quarantined area outside the zone of polite conversation. Despite much academic ink being allotted to the weaknesses of Christianity as a valid belief system, the general public remains unaware of these flaws. In Cross Examined, John Campbell applies his almost thirty years of experience as a trial lawyer to dissecting Christianity and the case of apologists for the Christian God. He addresses the best arguments for Christianity, those against it, and the reasons people should care about these questions. His purpose is to fill a void in books on atheism and Christianity by systematically taking Christian claims to task and making a full-throated argument for atheism from the perspective of a trial lawyer making a case.
