"This study sought to determine if there was a relationship between leadership components and demographic characteristics or facets of job satisfaction of Minnesota public high school principals. In addition, the study investigated whether or not there is a relationship between leadership components and overall job satisfaction ... The study found that inspirational motivation was significantly related to years of experience, school size, and school location. Contingent reward was significantly related to years in current position. Active management by exception was significantly related to age, years of experience as a principal, and years in current position. Gender, school size, and school location were all found to be significantly related to Laissez-fair leadership. A significant relationship was found to exist between cascading effects and satisfaction with people on the job as well as contingent reward and satisfaction with supervision. No significant relationships were found to exist between the leadership components and overall job satisfaction."--leaf iii.
