THE RAVEN SPEAKS is a story that is part fictional and part true. I chose Kenner, Louisiana, a beautiful southern city for the distinguished setting of this book. The Raven is a symbolic figure used to guide the main character Mr. Daniels into spiritual truth. Mr. Daniels is chosen to advise the world that a spiritual change is coming and that Human kind must prepare for this change. THE RAVEN SPEAKS is a spiritual journey that carries you beyond this earthly depth to a celestial height beyond imagination. Mattie Simms was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi. She is the youngest of three children. The offspring of her father a Blacksmith and mother a Literature Professor. She accredits her mother for her interest in writing. Some of her poetry was published in the GREAT AMERICAN POETRY ANTHOLOGY and the NATIONAL LIBRARY OF POETRY. Her love for children inspired her to write more books. The poetry of Edgar Allan Poe has had a rough ride in America, as Emerson’s sneering quip about “The Jingle Man” testifies.
