Excerpt from The Pot-Pourri, 1898, Vol. 6 Cribbing is a custom found almost everywhere, and there are various methods of treating it, more or less successful - but principally less. In this school it has been the Custom for boys to sever their connection with the school by being caught cribbing. That being caught condition is what keeps the school from disband ing, for it is hard to find boys who will not crib when pressed, or who, at least, will not give assistance to neighbors in distress. While we heartily condemn the dishonesty and Short-sightedness of the boy who cribs, and the cowardice of him who helps another for fear of being thought ungenerous, we are inclined to hold the methods of the Faculty responsible for the great extent of this foolishness. For an instructor to sneak around the room on tip-toe during an examination, or even to watch from the desk, is to assume the responsibility of the class's hon esty, and is as much as to dare the boys to crib. Then the class feels no restraint, and the very risk is fascinating. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Excerpt from Allerlei, 1898, Vol. 7 AS regards the merit of the Allerlei for 1897, a certain modesty, all our own, prevents our expressing an opinion. The bear remarked to its offspring one day: You are a handsome cub, whereupon the cub became straightway inflated with pride and called everybody's attention to him self, but only to have it discovered that there was really nothing handsome about him, - which is a fable, but not according to zesop, the moral whereof is that it is a good thing not to be a handsome bear-cub, nor yet a vain Allerlei.
