The Paraklesis Service to the Most Holy Theotokos is a service of supplication addressed by Orthodox Christians to the Virgin Mary in times of great personal or public need. The distinguishing feature of the Paraklesis is the inclusion of the supplicatory canon of sacred hymnography attributed to Theosterictus the Monk.
