The Mystic Will
The idea of self-help is a good one, and when it is actually you who is doing the helping, you can definitely improve your life. But I am talking about helping yourself in the old-fashioned way: when you acknowledge your weaknesses, recognize your mistakes, and then try to do something about them. This is the kind of help which requires self-awareness, self-discipline, self-reliance, and--most of all--daily effort. True, meaningful change only comes gradually. But if you are able to commit yourself to some kind of genuine discipline, you will definitely change your life for the better. Which brings me to Charles Godfrey Leland's all-but-forgotten treatise on The Mystic Will. He was a man of extraordinarily varied interests and apparently lived a full, happy, and successful life. All his books make for interesting reading, but none of them contain the life-changing secret to be found in The Mystic Will.
The Mystic Will is a spiritual book by Charles Godfrey Leland. It explains a method of inducing the mystic power of the human mind, to bring about desired conditions and miracles into your life.
During the past few years the most serious part of the author's study and reflection has been devoted to the subjects discussed in this book. These, briefly stated, are as follows: Firstly, that all mental or cerebral faculties can by direct scientific treatment be influenced to what would have once been regarded as miraculous action, and which is even yet very little known or considered. Secondly, in development of this theory, and as confirmed by much practical and personal experience, that the Will can by very easy processes of training, or by aid of Auto-Suggestion, be strengthened to any extent, and states of mind soon induced, which can be made by practice habitual.
A METHOD OF DEVELOPING AND STRENGTHENING THE FACULTIES OF THE MIND, THROUGH THE AWAKENED WILL, BY A SIMPLE, SCIENTIFIC PROCESS POSSIBLE TO ANY PERSON OF ORDINARY INTELLIGENCE
Charles Godfrey Leland (August 15, 1824 - March 20, 1903) was an American humorist and folklorist, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was educated at Princeton University and in Europe. Leland worked in journalism, travelled extensively, and became interested in folklore and folk linguistics. He published books and articles on American and European languages and folk traditions. He worked in a wide variety of trades, achieved recognition as the author of the comic Hans Breitmann's Ballads, and fought in two conflicts. He wrote Aradia, or the Gospel of the Witches, which became a primary source text for Neopaganism half a century later.

Mystic is the start of an enchanting new epic fantasy series from Jason Denzel, the founder of Dragonmount. I called to the Myst, and it sent us you. For hundreds of years, high-born nobles have competed for the chance to learn of the Myst. Powerful, revered, and often reclusive, Mystics have the unique ability to summon and manipulate the Myst: the underlying energy that lives at the heart of the universe. Once in a very great while, they take an apprentice, always from the most privileged sects of society. Such has always been the tradition-until a new High Mystic takes her seat and chooses Pomella AnDone, a restless, low-born teenager, as a candidate. Commoners have never been welcomed among the select few given the opportunity to rise beyond even the highest nobility. So when Pomella chooses to accept the summons and journey to Kelt Apar, she knows that she will have more to contend with than the competition for the apprenticeship. Breaking both law and tradition, Pomella undergoes three trials against the other candidates to prove her worthiness. As the trials unfold, Pomella navigates a deadly world of intolerance and betrayal, unaware that ruthless conspirators intend to make her suffer for having the audacity to seek to unravel the secrets of the Myst.
