In this issue of The Ministry we conclude our series of messages entitled “Vision in God’s Economy,” comprising Brother Lee’s fellowship with the elders and co-workers in Taipei in March 1986. The present vision and practice in the Lord’s recovery are the culmination of all the visions, which God has given to men in His holy Word. Our vision and practice today are according to God’s New Testament economy to build up the Body of Christ to consummate the New Jerusalem. This is the vision, which matches the age, and it is the basis of the one accord among us. Six other messages in this issue are taken from the International Conference of Co-workers and Elders in September 1997. The subject of this conference was “Vital Factors in the Lord’s Present Move.” These vital factors are related to the apostles’ teaching, the Body of Christ, and the elders’ shepherding of the church. Caring diligently for these factors ensures that in our living and laboring we are kept in the central lane of the divine revelation with one way for one goal—the goal of God’s eternal economy—which we carry out by shepherding in cooperation with Christ’s heavenly ministry. These messages were spoken by twelve brothers in a blending way, and they include excerpts from Brother Lee’s written ministry. In this issue we report on our endeavor to acquire an enlarged campus for the spread of the work of God’s New Testament ministry in the Lord’s recovery. We also provide fellowship concerning the Lord’s move on the earth through letters from Ghana, France, Poland, and Romania. Lastly, we provide a report concerning the translation of the written ministry into the Spanish language.
The purpose of this monthly digest is to help to encourage and assist in the daily reading of the ministry in the Lord’s recovery. Its two specific goals are: (1) to help the saints to enter into the riches of The Collected Works of Witness Lee and (2) to provide ministry content for the churches in their corporate weekly pursuit. The Collected Works of Witness Lee comprises one hundred thirty-nine volumes arranged chronologically by year. In this digest we will focus primarily on specific topics from many of these volumes and introduce selected readings on these topics to saints who do not have access to the printed volumes. It is our desire to help the saints get into the riches contained in The Collected Works of Witness Lee topic by topic. This publication will help the saints and churches develop a taste and deepen the desire for reading the ministry in a consistent way. It is intended to supplement and not replace the Recovery Version of the Bible, the Life-study messages, The Holy Word for Morning Revival, and The Ministry of the Word magazine. Each issue of Ministry Digest will be divided into four sections with four messages in each section. The first issue begins the following four sections: 1. The History of the Lord’s Recovery 2. Words for New Believers 3. Maturing in Life 4. The High Peak of the Divine Revelation
This issue of The Ministry contains a complete record of the six messages given during the 2007 Thanksgiving Weekend Conference held in Boston, Massachusetts on November 22-25, 2007. The general subject of the conference was "Closely Following the Present Vision of the Lord's Recovery." The burden of these messages can be summarized in the following four statements: 1) To live out and work out the New Jerusalem is to live out and work out God's complete salvation according to the intrinsic essence of the unique New Testament ministry for the reality of the Body of Christ and a new revival; 2) God became man so that man may become God in life and nature but not in the Godhead to produce and build up the Body of Christ for the fulfillment of God's economy to close this age and bring Christ back to set up His kingdom; 3) God's intention is, through the universal woman, to bring forth the man-child--the stronger part of God's people--whom He will use to defeat His enemy and bring in His kingdom; and 4) We must closely follow the present vision of the Lord's recovery by holding to the teaching of the apostles to remain in the essence of oneness. The Reports and Announcements section includes a schedule concerning the upcoming conferences and trainings for 2008.
This issue of The Ministry contains a complete record of the six messages given during the 2006 Thanksgiving Weekend Conference held in Washington, D.C. in November 23-26, 2006. The general subject of the conference was "Living in the Mingled Spirit for the Reality of the Body of Christ." The burden of these messages can be summarized in the following four statements: (1) God's unique purpose is to mingle Himself with us so that He becomes our life, nature, and content and so that we become His corporate expression. (2) The mingled spirit is the unique organ for us to live the life of a God-man and for God to bring forth and build up the Body of Christ. (3) We must be filled with the beautifying, bride-preparing Spirit mingled with our spirit so that we can be prepared to be Christ's glorious church, His beautiful bride, and the house of God's beauty for God's expression. (4) We must experience the slaying Spirit mingled with our spirit so that everything of God's adversary can be killed within us, enabling us to rule in the divine life of the Spirit over Satan, sin, and death for God's dominion. Following the conference messages there is an appendix containing some healthy fellowship regarding the present turmoil in the Lord's recovery. Last of all, we include additional reports concerning the gospel move in the Russian-speaking world.
In this issue of The Ministry, Brother Lee stresses our need to realize that we are branches in the vine for bearing fruit and grains of wheat for bringing forth many grains. According to its history, the church in general has had the concept that we must do a work of preaching. In the Lord’s recovery, however, our concept must be radically changed. We should not put our trust in the preaching work; rather, we must stress fruit-bearing. For this, we must abide in Christ, be willing to die, be pruned, and then go to contact people by imparting Christ to them with and in brotherly love. In this way, we will see the increase of Christ and the spread of the kingdom of God through our remaining fruit. The following messages continue the Crystallization-study of Revelation, given in the summer training of 1999. Message Four presents a full revelation of Christ in His coming back concerning His person and His work. The Lord’s coming back is also related to the prophecy of the four “sevens,” which include the seven seals, the seven trumpets, the seven bowls, and the last seven years of this present age. Message Five speaks of the intrinsic significance and the subjective experience of the golden lampstand. The lampstand with its golden nature, form, and seven lamps signifies the Triune God—the Father, the Son, and the Spirit. The lampstand also signifies the church as the reproduction of Christ and the reprint of the Spirit. Such revelation needs our subjective experience so that we may become the reproduction of the lampstand, the expression of the Triune God. Message Six presents a full view of Christ as the Son of Man walking in the midst of the golden lampstands. He is the High Priest girded about at the breasts with a golden girdle, cherishing the churches in His humanity and nourishing them with His divinity. Last of all, we include reports describing the Lord’s move in the Ukraine and in Armenia and among the elders and responsible ones in a recent training in Ventura, California.
This issue of The Ministry of the Word contains the eight messages of the international training for elders and responsible ones hosted by Living Stream Ministry on April 16-18, 2021. The messages were provided via webcast from Anaheim, California, and the mutual fellowship, prophesying, and studying by groups were practiced locally in the various churches that participated. The general subject of this series of messages is "Vital Factors for the Recovery of the Church Life." The ultimate goal in God's eternal economy is the building up of the church as the Body of Christ to consummate the New Jerusalem, the bride of the redeeming God. In the age of the church, there needs to be an understanding, experience, and application of various vital factors for the strengthening and full recovery of the church life. A factor is an element that actively contributes to the production of a result. In this series of messages, we will see eight vital, critical, and strategic elements that actively contribute to the recovery of the church life.
In this issue of The Ministry we include six messages given during the 2001 Thanksgiving Weekend Conference in Jacksonville, Florida, November 22-25. The general subject of the conference was "The World Situation and the New Revival." The burden for this series of messages can be expressed in the following four statements: 1) in His economy, God desires to make Christ the centrality and universality of His move on earth, 2) God's ultimate move in His recovery is to work Himself into us that we may live Him out and express Him as the Body, 3) the Lord's recovery is for the preparation of the bride of Christ, who is composed of all His overcomers, and 4) the corporate Christ, Christ with His overcoming bride, will come as a stone to crush the aggregate of human government to bring in God's kingdom. Last of all, we include a report concerning a recent conference in Ghana, West Africa.
This issue of The Ministry of the Word contains the first eight of the sixteen messages given during the fall 2023 term of the full-time training in Anaheim, California. The general subject of this series of messages is “The Crucial Points of the Truth in Paul’s Epistles—First Corinthians.”
This issue of The Ministry contains a complete record of the six messages given during the 2005 Thanksgiving Weekend Conference held in Atlanta, Georgia, November 24-27, 2005. The general subject of the conference was the Lord's coming. The burden of these messages can be summarized in the following four statements: 1) we need to be purified and reconstituted with the healing Christ in the last days for His coming; 2) if we pay the price to allow the Spirit to saturate our entire being, we are watchful persons, making ourselves ready for the Lord's coming; 3) in order to enter into the joy of the Lord in the coming age of the kingdom, we need to pay the price in this age by losing our soul-life; and 4) all those who are used by God to turn the age must be Nazarites--voluntarily consecrated ones who are sanctified absolutely and ultimately to God. Lastly, we also include two reports: a report concerning the Lord's move in Ethiopia and a report concerning two seminars held in eastern Europe in the countries of Poland and Romania.
