Excerpt from The Millennial Harbinger Abridged, Vol. 1 Time, the great innovator, brings to pass everything. Gradual but unceasing is its march. It never slumbers. It never pauses. It gives maturity to everything. When we are taught to read the volume of nature, or rather the great library of God, and have made some proficiency in the volume of Revelation, we discover that there is an admirable analogy between the volumes of Creation and Redemption. As is the progress of natural, so has been the progress of supernatural light. First, there are the glimmerings of dawn - then the twilight - then the risen day, and then the radiance of noon. So is not only the faith of the just, which brightens more and more until the perfect day; but also such are the developments of the light of life. Excerpt from The Millennial Harbinger, 1853, Vol. 3: Series IV In order to reach my appointments in Missouri, I was obliged to leave Mrs. Campbell and children to return, after a few days, to Beth any, via Cincinnati, and to hasten to Hannibal, where my labors were to commence. Accompanied by Elder Fife, we reached this flourishing town on Saturday, at 1 o 'clock, after a pleasing sail 01 some twenty hours. Excerpt from The Great Drama, or the Millennial Harbinger, Vol. 2 Nature abounds in symbols, and when our moral vision is illuminated with divine light, we can see sermons in stones, and God in everything. To insure this illumination we must pursue the track of nature; for reason can run on no other track than common-sense, without friction. And where there is friction we know something is wrong, for God intended us for happiness. These side-tracks into which we are led by ignorance and blind prejudice, if pursued, will lead us upon the dark and dreary deserts of speculation, doubt, and uncertainty. The true light holds us to our purpose - happiness for ourselves and never leaves us to entire desolation; for God, our Father, reveals Himself to us in each event that befalls us. Even the curse upon woman is almost obliterated to passengers upon this track, over which we propose to take our passen gers on board our Lightning Express Train. Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.
