The roof and upper part of the edifice had been broken down, but on the massive stone walls which still remained, its new owner erected the present roomy and substantial abode, which, with its bu ' washed walls, its brown-tiled roof, its mullioned windows below and latticed easements above, Often caught the eye of the traveller on the high-road between Bedesby and Marton.
