In 1876 my father, Richard Soule (author of A Dictionary of English Synonymes and other books of reference), came to my assistance, and had nearly prepared the manuscript for the printer when his death occurred in 1877. His aid was so valuable that the book would have been published in his name if he had lived to carry it through the press.
