Admitting what you are will end everything you know. Embracing who you are will start a war...Life is great when you're good-looking and popular...so long as no one knows you're a vulatto. Being half-alien gets you labeled "loser" quicker than being a full vader. So it's a good thing Devon, Lyle, and Lawrence can easily pass for human--until the night of the party. Nothing kills a good time faster than three brothers sharing a psychic vision of a fourth brother who's off-world and going to die unless they do something. But when your brother's emergency happens off-planet, calling 9-1-1 really isn't an option. In their attempt to save a brother they barely remember, Devon, Lyle and Lawrence expose themselves to mortal danger and inherit a destiny that killed the last four guys cursed with it. In 2022, there are humans and aliens, heroes and monsters, choices and prophecies--and four brothers with the power to choose what's left when the gods decide they're through playing games.
Roman Young, quarterback for the Dallas Destroyers, doesn't expect to get a gun shoved in his face by the beautiful red head, Katie Winters, when he arrives to sell the Inn he inherited from his uncle in Wolfe Creek, Utah. But, he's not surprised, either. It's the way his life has been lately. Just ask the tabloids that have happily reported his shattered knee, his wife's affair, and the car accident. Unfortunately, Katie is wearing a wedding ring. Not that he noticed. He doesn't know why he doesn't tell her about the fact he's selling the Inn, even after she shoves a list of supply demands into his chest and rambles on and on about all the projects they have to do. When he discovers her husband passed away a year ago, and her seven-year-old son asks him to come to dinner and movie night, things start to change. Or did they start to change when Katie took him sledding? Or when all he could think about was kissing her? Now he has to make a choice-keep ignoring the truth-or try one Last Play.

In a series that explores the logic-defying comebacks and tough losses, the dramatic interceptions, fumbles, game-winning field goals, and touchdowns that shape a fan’s greatest memories of their beloved team, this book does not disappoint as the ultimate collector’s item for Bears fans. It chronicles the most famous moments in Chicago football history, including Gale Sayers's six-touchdown day against the 49ers, Walter Payton's 275-yard performance in 1977, Devin Hester's Super Bowl XLI kickoff return, and the dominating team performance of Super Bowl XX. The descriptions of each play are accompanied with game information and quotes from participants, players, and observers with firsthand accounts.
The definitive account of the 2001-2004 New England Patriots. Analyzes the many "success factors" underlying the team's two Super Bowl victories in three seasons. Entertains with humorous, insightful quotations from players, coaches, executives, and owners while helping fans vicariously experience life as a New England Patriot. "Management Secrets" is essential reading for any serious fan of Bill Belichick's Patriots and anyone seeking to build a great organization. (Vol. 1 covers the team's achievements, personnel, teamwork, motivation, and competition. Vol. 2 to be published February 2005.) James Lavin earned his economics Ph.D. at Stanford, where he analyzed "high performance work organizations" (like the Patriots). He also holds degrees in: political science (Harvard, magna cum laude), economics (London School of Economics), and East Asian studies (Stanford). James grew up in Wayland, MA cheering for many lousy Patriots teams.
The book offers the clearest definition yet of the history play, its scope and its limits. Historical drama is an extremely popular genre among 20th-century English playwrights. Yet the sheer size and complexity of the subject has, until now, prevented critics from attempting a clear definition. Dr. Harben provides a new and original perspective, taking into account modern ideas of and attitudes to history. The author examines the varying approaches to history taken by modern historians and playwrights, and provides a detailed analysis of the historical source material of selected plays. The study is supported with a wealth of vivid and provocative illustrations. Historical and dramatic criticism is related to theatrical interpretation and experience. This book therefore should prove valuable and interesting to the reader with a specialist interest in the field as well as to the more general reader.
