Excerpt from The High School Annual, 1918, Vol. 11 Many pupils this year have discontinued their High School course to accept positions. The Senior class has probably fared the worst and we were extremely sorry to lose our classmates of three years. All those Seniors attending school at the time the Senior pictures were sent to the engraving house have their pictures in this Annual. Those who were not in school at that time, have not. Upon consideration this was deemed wise and just. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Excerpt from The Wahiscoan, 1918, Vol. 1 It is with great pleasure that we present our first volume of the wahiscoan. We have earnestly tried to portray every phase of High School life. It is our sincere hope that every one will be pleased with our efforts. Owing to the present war situation, our task has been indeed a hard one, and we trust that as you turn these pages your criticism of our work will be lenient. Three preceding classes published annuals with names appli cable only to their respective classes and years. The Class of 1916 published an annual with a name that could be applied to any High School. We have chosen wahiscoan, meaning W. H. S. Annual, and we sincerely hope that this name will be kept by those who follow us, for we believe it will be the best suited name to be found for the production. Excerpt from The Annual, 1920, Vol. 13: Published by the Students of Mansfield High School The name of this book this year remains as of old, The Annual. Altho a contest was announced for the purpose of selecting a new name, only one suggestion was handed in. Since this was announced only once, it was probably our fault that no more active results were reached, but at least the idea of a permanent name has been started and it is to be hoped that next year's staff, if they deign to accept our suggestion, will arrive at a more satisfactory conclusion and a name will be found which can be retained for all future Annuals.
