The purpose of this book is to examine the most monumental life in history- Jesus, the Christ. By examining the words of Jesus, and the apostle Paul, the reader will gain a greater appreciation of the ministry of Jesus. Indeed, the reader will learn that Jesus not only died to take away our sins; He also lived to provide us with perfect righteousness. This is the great exchange: we exchange our sins for His righteousness. Yet, the importance of this truth is rarely emphasized in churches today. This study will examine the great exchange by using key passages from the New Testament. By learning more about the great exchange, readers will gain a deeper understanding into the meaning of salvation, as well as who they are "in Christ."
Believers often take for granted the great act of salvation provided to us by the work of Jesus Christ. Beginning with the Old Testament sacrifices and the prophecies that foreshadowed Christ, authors Jerry Bridges and Bob Bevington guide believers through the biblical overview of Christ's atonement. The Great Exchange helps believers see how the Old Testament practices tie in with the New Testament discussion of Christ's great work of salvation. As believers work through these principles, they will begin to recognize that even though we deserve condemnation and punishment from a holy God, he has given us the opportunity to experience his great riches through his Son, Jesus Christ. The clear gospel message presented throughout the entire book offers a great appreciation of Christ for believers and an opportunity for salvation for unbelievers.
Jeff Cavins gives an answer to the perennial human question: why does a good God allow suffering? Through the lens of the Mass, and the suffering and sacrifice it re-presents, he shows how the suffering that we inherited through original sin can find meaning in the suffering of Christ. Suffering entered the world through Adam, but Christ came to give it meaning and the capacity to bear fruit. Through the greatest suffering ever endured – the Crucifixion – came the greatest gift: salvation to the world. So also, through our suffering – united to His – will come much good for us and for the whole world.
This is a rousing scripture-based guide to warding off Satan and restoring one’s relationship with God as originally intended. Lori Haywood-Mains draws deeply on Genesis and on the purpose of Jesus in restoring the connection severed by Satan’s presence in the garden. Lori reveals that Satan is a thief, he comes to steal, kill, and destroy. She believes his attacks are strategic. John 10:10 says, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” When Satan attacks our lives, he enters through the gates of our minds. The mind is the door to your life, and once he finds a way in, he can fulfill his plan on earth. When the Holy Spirit reveals His Word to you, it passes through the natural realm and enters the spirit. In this case, the natural realm is the mind. The revelation of God cannot be stopped. Even the gates—the mind—of hell cannot stop it. Discover how to distinguish who is speaking to you so you too can enjoy living in victory today! It’s your choice. -Lori
The Great Exchange "Being Restored Better Than Before" Life can result in unresolved issues, unanswered questions, and overwhelming emotions can cause one to feel justified in releasing bitter actions towards life, however regardless of the justification, whatever we plant, and water in ground of this life shall be our reaping, therefore taking deep self examinations are necessary, to ensure our reaping season is that of better and not bitter, what so ever is sown, shall be reaped. The choice is yours. In the year of 2014 while focused on achieving the life I had dreamed of, midstream with no warning my life was drastically altered. I traveled to London in August, turned fifty in October; by the fourth quarter of the year all my children were grown and gone, and before the celebration could start, I blinked, and I was a widow before the end of the same year. This sudden alteration was certainly not a part of my life plans nor anything I had dream about or hope for, yet a reality that I had to embrace. As I begin dealing with the Aftermath, and sorting through the debris of destruction left behind, I knew to live in this place would choke the life out of me, therefore I begin to pick up the broken pieces and create life after yet another life changing storm.
