The Gosling Bride is the coming of age, growing in faith journey of a young woman in the 1970s who follows her brother into a new religious group soon to be branded as a cult. She must quickly navigate the fine line between an outside world bent on breaking her faith and an inside world of austerity and impossible goals. Maneuvering the two worlds becomes crucial not only for the realization of her personal dreams, but for the sake of a nation spiraling out of control. She has left behind friends, family, and college for an all-consuming cause not knowing the outcome, but fueled by the belief that if she cannot fulfill this quest - no matter its cost - a spiritual Armageddon will come to the world and a legacy of destruction for those to follow. Fundraising from the coal mining territory of West Virginia to America's heartland, she experiences, on one hand, the nation's deep divisions, and, on the other, endless giving and bountiful grace. At the heart of The Gosling Bride is a story about the adverse road to real love and the reality of a God who never gives up on us.

The Lennard family of Chevening, Kent descends from a George Lennard who was living there at the time of Henry VI. His father was named John and was living in Chepsted, Kent in 1440. The Lennard family married into the Fynes and Dacre families, both of whom were lesser nobility. Upon marrying into the noble houses of Fynes and Dacre, the Lennards inherited the title of Lord Dacre. In 1674 the ninth Baron Dacre married Anne FitzRoy, illegitimate daughter of King Charles II. Charles II readily recognized her as his daughter and freely bestowed gifts to her. In this manner, Thomas, ninth Baron Dacre was made Earl of Sussex. Another branch of the Lennard family married into and took the name Barrett, as well as the title of Lord Newburgh. Descendents of the various Lennard branches may be found in England and the United States.
"First compiled from oral tradition in a systemic way in the early 19th century, this is the Finnish national epic, the greatest example of Finnish literature and the ancient text that illuminates the unique character of these Baltic peoples. Here, in lyrical, expressive language, are nearly 23,000 verses relating the adventures of the legendary heroes Väinämöinen, the "eternal sage," and his companion, the "everlasting smith" Ilmarinen; of the deity Lemminkäinen; and other magical demigods. With its grand scope encompassing the dawn of prehistory through the Iron Age, Kalevala is a work of vital anthropological significance, from its creation mythology to its marking of the shifts in cultural ideas and attitudes, particularly as pagan belief systems clash with arriving Christianity in the latest verses. This edition features the now-classic 1907 translation by British entomologist WILLIAM FORSELL KIRBY (1844-1913), and will thrill readers of comparative mythology as well as fans of imaginative epic literature."--P.
