This is the seventh volume of Fredson Bowers' definitive series of critical, old-spelling texts of the plays in the Beaumont and Fletcher canon, in which the text is established on modern bibliographical principles. This volume contains the text of six plays by Fletcher but two, Henry VIII and The Two Noble Kinsmen, include the collaborative efforts of Shakespeare. Each play is introduced by a discussion of the text and authorship, and is accompanied by detailed textual notes, lists of press-variants, emendations of accidentals and historical collations. The plays are Henry VIII and The Two Noble Kinsmen, edited by Fredson Bowers; Wit at Several Weapons, edited by Robert Kean Turner; The Nice Valour, edited by Cyrus Hoy; and A Very Woman, edited by Hans Walter Gabler.
