I've adapted coaching into "coaching buttons," where I use an available opportunity to do a brief coaching conversation with someone. The coaching button is a short coaching moment that sticks with your listener. Like the button on a shirt or coat, a coaching button doesn't do the whole job, but over time as you use more coaching buttons, the whole picture comes together. They key is to make these coaching buttons easily understood and memorable, so they are able to stand on their own and be part of a larger story. This book is a collection of essays about various topics on leadership and vision in information technology. As each essay presents an individual lesson about leadership, each can be viewed as a coaching button on that topic. By reading this book, I hope the coaching buttons will provide some insight on how to be a leader, how to lead through change, and how to do strategic planning. These are the essentials of good leadership.
This book is the culmination of a year-long project experimenting with poetry and visual art. Each poem highlights a genre of personal experience and encompasses an overarching theme of my personal development and self-awareness. Genres of poetry include self-exploration, upbringing, hardships, and travel. I have also represented the tone of certain poems using visual art. Working with a local artist, I used a Strappo technique of acrylic painting to further express a process of development. This technique requires forethought, the main subject is painted first on glass, and detail layers are painted in sequence after. While each poem and piece of art represent experiences of my life, I hope you can derive similarities and inspiration for yourself.
This book was written as a help for individual persons who want to organize their creativity, be it for science (incl. engineering and commercial projects), art, or private projects. Its aim is to enlarge your options when having ideas and to improve the chance of realizing creative projects. It is written as a practical handbook and describes how organization can support generating, capturing, collecting (incl. enlarging, restructuring, etc.) and realizing ideas. While creativity "techniques" are dealt with, the focus is on the infrastructure to enable you to capture your fleeting ideas and cultivate them to finally realize them as creative projects.

“The Devil Wears Prada’s Emily Charlton gets the spin-off she deserves” (Cosmopolitan) in the months-long New York Times bestseller from Lauren Weisberger in which three women team up to bring a bad man down in the tony suburb of Greenwich, Connecticut. Welcome to Greenwich, Connecticut, where the lawns and the women are perfectly manicured, the Tito’s and sodas are extra strong, and everyone has something to say about the infamous new neighbor. Let’s be clear: Emily Charlton does not do the suburbs. After leaving Miranda Priestly, she’s been working in Hollywood as an image consultant to the stars, but recently, Emily’s lost a few clients. She’s hopeless with social media. The new guard is nipping at her heels. She needs a big opportunity, and she needs it now. When Karolina Hartwell, a gorgeous former supermodel, is arrested, her fall from grace is merciless. Her senator-husband leaves her, her Beltway friends disappear, and the tabloids pounce. In Karolina, Emily finds her comeback opportunity. But she quickly learns Greenwich is a world apart and that this comeback needs a team approach. So it is that Emily, the scorned Karolina, and their mutual friend Miriam, a powerful attorney turned stay-at-home mom, band together to navigate the social land mines of suburban Greenwich and win back the hearts of the American public. Along the way, an unexpected ally emerges in one Miranda Priestly. With her signature wit, Lauren Weisberger offers an alluring look into a sexy, over-the-top world—and proves it’s style and substance together that gets the job done. “A delicious sequel to The Devil Wears Prada…exploring what it’s like to be a woman buffeted by conflicting messages about career, relationships, and motherhood” (The Washington Post), When Life Gives You Lululemons is “amazing novel about…truth, lies and how everyone is a little bit insecure” (Associated Press). “Fast-paced, funny, and gossipy, this is the must-have accessory for your beach bag” (PopSugar).
