Their love would spawn a dynasty. Three hundred years in the future, mankind still is trying to survive the Great Collision that changed the earth forever. People live in pockets of civilization called compounds, battling the elements and the mutations which have developed over the centuries, trying to live and survive day by day. Yulen D'Jacques is the Battle Lord of Alta Novis. His duty is to keep his compound and his people safe, which means yearly sweeps of the area to remove any mutated men and animals from encroaching. Atrilan Ferran is Mutah, a mutant warrior and huntress trained to protect and defend her home from Cleaners, the “normals” who invade the forests to slaughter everything and everyone who gets in their way. They never anticipated the day when their hearts would collide, challenging and changing everything they thought was the truth. Leading them to the day they would have to prove their love for each other to man and mutant alike.
With all the swashbuckling action and adventure that have kept her fans coming back for more, Lady Blade, Lord Fighter is the first in a new series from Sharon Green. A strong, sword-weilding heroine and an equally strong male work together to save their threatened kingdom.
Forced to leave Atty behind under the protection of Alta Novis, Yulen D'Jacques takes his troops to his newly acquired compound of Bearinger to defend it against the increasing attacks by Bloods. But when news arrives that Bearinger's walls were breached, Atty knows she must risk the dangerous trek to find out whether or not her husband is still alive. And if so, to bring him back home, regardless of the consequences.
Things seem to have settled down among the people of Alta Novis. Normals and Mutah are working together, and families are thriving. The compound is filled to capacity and brimming with new life, but their good fortune can only last for so long. Winter is setting in, and the surrounding countryside is being plagued by unexpected swarms of wild animals. In addition, a horde of rats is contaminating the food supplies and destroying goods, but why? Where are all these creatures coming from? And why is it happening now? It all seems to point to one man – a sorcer who shows up at the compound and demands obedience, or else he'll bring down a devastating curse upon them all. A curse that threatens to take away all Yulen D’Jacques holds dear. The Battle Lord finds himself at odds between fact and fiction, but he’ll stop at nothing to save his family, as well as his dynasty. But sometimes the real enemy can’t be seen, making it an almost impossible battle to fight, much less win.
The battle lord and lady of Alta Novis are still recovering from disease and loss, but things are slowly getting back to normal. Of course, things can’t be that easy. There’s a new enemy in town, of the eight-legged variety—an infestation of them. The species is a new one, and it's unknown how dangerous they are, but Yulen isn’t going to take any risks to find out. With a plan in motion, Yulen and a small army of men set out to track down the giant creatures, finding their nest in a cave. He and his crew waste no time going in to burn out the egg sacs, but when Yulen emerges from the flaming caverns, he finds himself…in the past? At least, he believes so when he sees the figure of a long-dead adversary. Somehow, a twist of fate has switched Yulen with a different version of himself. With the monsterous Yulen. The way he was before Atty. Before love. Before his acceptance of the Mutah. Realizing the other D’Jacques could be with his Atty, the reformed Yulen is seeing what his life would be like if she'd never come along. Now he must figure out how to get back to his own present. But before he does, he knows he has to bring this alternate timeline back up to speed with his own thriving world. Parallel lives, parallel realities, but totally different people and circumstances. Sometimes you learn a lot about yourself from experiences that you never knew possible, and it alters the course of your future for the better.
Scientist Leigh Readon and her colleagues have done the unimaginable. They’ve invented a machine that can transport matter to other platforms of the same machine. When the US government gets wind, they want it shut down immediately, or so they say. In an effort to save the technology from falling into the wrong hands, the group deletes all of the schematics and research information, and Leigh takes the risk of transporting herself to France where one of their landing pads is located. When she gets there, she plans to give the French scientists a heads up. Only she doesn’t land in the France she expected. She finds herself among…cavemen? Is that even possible? Accepting her fate, Leigh tries to navigate the primitive world of the Stone Age, and soon finds herself in the arms of her hero, Roog, who protects her from the elements and the not so friendly inhabitants, and teaches her the way of his people. The other scientists are still trying to figure out where she is, or worse, when she is. With the government breathing down their necks and trying to shut them down, can they find her before it’s too late? If given the chance, would Leigh go back to her time, or make a life for herself with Roog?
With threats of solar flares larger than anything ever recorded looming, everyone on Earth is scrambling to prepare. No one knows how severe the consequences will be. With little to no warning, the massive flares hit, wiping out power grids, frying everything electrical or battery-operated, and burning out most living beings, unless you were lucky enough to be deep underground or inside something that could withstand the unimaginable temperatures. In the end, the Earth has been left in total, absolute darkness. Having rekindled their romance after their failed marriage, Gideon doesn’t want to be apart from D’hani, but she lives in another town. The last time he talked to her, he vowed to come looking for her if/when the big one hits. Because he works for Brodwyn Light and Power, he must stick around to help restore power when the flares pass. Barely escaping death, he leaves to find her, to see if she also managed to survive, but life has been forever changed. Survival is now reduced to scavenging for whatever food and water he can find, and that means only the fittest or smartest will stay alive. But some survivors have been reduced to savages. Has humanity completely turned on itself? It seems there are still a few good ones left, though they are very few and far between. If Gideon can find D’hani, they’re going to search for a place where they can spend the rest of their days, however long that may be. Although it may be the end of the world, their last wish is for them to be together.
Every five years, Yulen D’Jacques, Battle Lord of Alta Novis, holds a conference to continue strengthening relations between the Normals and Mutah. Both battle lords and Mutah councilmembers from far and wide are invited in an effort to prove how important they could be to each other, and to dismiss any misconceptions Normals may still have toward the people they once considered their inferior enemies. This time, it’s determined Mattox D’Jacques, Battle Prince of Alta Novis, should take on some of the responsibilities of running the conference. After all, he eventually will be the one to take the reins from his parents, but his Mutah “tell” usually scares people off rather than gains him respect. Caralas Edge is the battle princess of Vega City, the biggest compound in the west. But she doesn’t want to just be a princess, and have someone coddling her because of her title. She can hold her own. It’s moot anyway. She knows she’ll never take over Vega City, fearing someone wants to get her father out of the way so they can claim it for themselves. She’s long had her suspicions, but her father will hear none of it. She and Mattox clash like two swords when they first meet. They’re too much alike in temperament. But when the red-eyed battle prince saves Caralas’ life, they discover the danger is not over. It seems someone is interested in the inner workings of the compound, and it’s more than a little suspicious. But who? With this many battle lords in attendance, trouble is sure to be found. A possible takeover is brewing, but everyone is completely taken off guard when faced with an enemy no one can fight off. And when it becomes a battle to the death, Mattox and Caralas discover a deeper connection between them than they ever thought possible.
Zak takes his alien mate, Silla, to the remains of a bowling alley for an impromptu date night. And when the scores remain close, he makes a bet with her as to the outcome.
Astronaut Aldyn Mackie is on his return trip home after serving his stint on a small space station. During that time he and NASA have been following a nebula through space that’s on track to bypass Earth…or it was. Now it’s heading straight for the planet. Set to re-enter the atmosphere in the next hour, NASA gives Aldyn the go ahead, informing him that he should be safe as the nebula will be gone by the time he lands. After all, it’s just a cloud of ions, gases, and dust, right? What could go wrong? When Aldyn lands it doesn’t take long to realize that something DID happen when the cloud enveloped the Earth. Something bad. The world has been wiped clean of every living thing. Gone, as if they’d just disappeared. And he soon discovers it’s terrifying being the last man alive. Trying to plan for a future is nearly impossible with no other humans, no animals for food, no birds or plants, or even insects. Aldyn knows he will die eventually, if he doesn’t go mad first. But when he catches a few glimpses of a woman in reflections, he begins to question his sanity. Is she real? If she is, who is she, and what is she doing here? He is desperate for human interaction, but if she doesn’t actually exist, his reality, and what’s left of his life, will be miserable at best.
