Temptation Road is a true and accurate account of a week-long road trip from India to Nepal and back taken by two young friends who are enthusiastic about the road, drugs and rock n’ roll. Written in a ‘stream of consciousness’ style, this almost fictional-seeming travelogue unfolds in a car on the road headed for the mountains. The writer and his driving fanatic friend pack provisions and hit the road with the express purpose of attending a rave on a mountaintop to experience bliss, paranoia and the mystical, through psychedelic drugs. Along the way, they meet interesting characters, get tempted to try things they wouldn’t otherwise try and have exhilarating as well as thought-provoking encounters. But, it would be a mistake to think of this work as one about drug use and abuse. This book is an observation and an insight into the youth and the culture of 21st century India. The name, Temptation Road, stems from the various temptations that the road offers, especially to the young who are looking for their place in the world. There are no exaggerations here, and everything expressed is either true or an opinion of the writer.

Brilliant panache is added to the genre of introspection and self-growth! Rebecca has artistically resurrected the beautiful, poetic worship style of the Shepherd-King David. A unique, fresh approach brings new inspiration to your journaling. With imaginative skill, she utilizes the written word like a paintbrush in her picturesque turn of phrase by shading meaning into the ordinary. This stimulating fashion will add a splash of refreshment to your quiet time! Contemporary, Psalm-style poetry opens each topical thought, prayer or praise, accompanied by an interesting, often entertaining, always stimulating short narrative of the topic that sketches a present-day life application. Scriptures re-enforce the power tool of God’s Word, and blank lined pages are included to allow for the poet in you to compose your own thoughts and psalms! Destined to reignite the expressive spirit of worship to personal devotion and journaling! Makes a delightful gift book! Don’t forget to give one to yourself! Endorsement “At once inspirational and vulnerable, Rebecca Lamarche’s I Borrowed David’s Harp weaves poetry with personal story, offering fresh insight into everyday scripture readings. Rebecca reminds readers that the Bible is not a 12-step self-help book, but rather a relationship with a personal God, who yearns for His people to smile at the future, and the now. You’ll find I Borrowed David’s Harp a pure joy to read, not only once, but over and over.” —Cornelia Becker Seigneur, speaker and author of Images of America: WEST LINN and WriterMom Tales. “Beautifully written, biblically sound, with wonderful insight. Every page drew me in, I would recommend this book to anyone looking to deepen their faith and strengthen their walk with God.” —Jimmy Myers, PhD, LPC-S, Executive Director, The Timothy Center
Kierkegaard’s Concepts is a comprehensive, multi-volume survey of the key concepts and categories that inform Kierkegaard’s writings. Each article is a substantial, original piece of scholarship, which discusses the etymology and lexical meaning of the relevant Danish term, traces the development of the concept over the course of the authorship, and explains how it functions in the wider context of Kierkegaard’s thought. Concepts have been selected on the basis of their importance for Kierkegaard’s contributions to philosophy, theology, the social sciences, literature and aesthetics, thereby making this volume an ideal reference work for students and scholars in a wide range of disciplines.
GOD IS ON THE ROAD Would you like to grow in awareness of God’s presence in your life? Paul Dixon shows how experiences of driving lead to reflections on living, alerting us to the inner pilgrimage—a journey we are all called to make. Whether you are a believer or an unbeliever, God is on the highway of life and He wants to journey with you. This book’s metaphoric use of driving and the road scene will help you to listen and respond to God who is deeply in love with you. God is on the Road is written for the general reader. It is a Christian spiritual book, yet relevant for all seeking love. The book functions like a pair of divine driving glasses, helping you glimpse God’s presence in your life. Each chapter is packed with short reflections to be dipped into a little at a time, challenging you to reflect on your life—your love story—with and to God. “God is on the Road is designed to help the reader to slow down and spend time with God. There are many aphorisms that stop the reader in his (her) tracks. This book would make an excellent addition to the seminarian reading list. Its many comparisons would provide some telling anecdotes for Sunday homilists. This is an original, thoughtful and helpful book.” Canon David Annear (Ret.), Diocese of Plymouth, United Kingdom.

In his praise for Part I of Upbuilding Discourses in Various Spirits, the eminent Kierkegaard scholar Eduard Geismar said, "I am of the opinion that nothing of what he has written is to such a degree before the face of God. Anyone who really wants to understand Kierkegaard does well to begin with it." These discourses, composed after Kierkegaard had initially intended to end his public writing career, constitute the first work of his "second authorship." Characterized by Kierkegaard as ethical-ironic, Part One, "Purity of Heart Is to Will One Thing," offers a penetrating discussion of double-mindedness and ethical integrity. Part Two, "What We Learn from the Lilies in the Field and from the Birds of the Air," humorously exposes an inverted qualitative difference between the learner and the teacher. In Part Three, "The Gospel of Sufferings, Christian Discourses," the philosopher explores how joy can come out of suffering.
