The purpose of SNEAP is to provide a forum for discussing the construction, operation, and use of electrostatic and RF booster accelerators. The organization was started by three laboratories in Canada in 1967 and now has members all around the world. The traditional format of SNEAP meetings includes a large amount of time for discussion and the exchange of ideas. Topics include subjects such as ion sources, accelerator developments, control systems, equipment suppliers and other topics of interest suggested by the membership.
This was the 26th in a series of annual meetings to discuss the operation and development of electrostatic accelerators and associated boosters. This volume presents reports on project status, operational experience, ion sources, control systems and charging systems. Also included are summary reports of the year's activities from all member laboratories.
The proceedings are a compilation of formal papers and informal discussion on the practical concerns in operating and improving electrostatic accelerators and their boosters. They are unique because of the amount of experience the participants have and that all discussion on the sessions is included. It could be described as a sort of 'manual of current operating experience and concerns' of these accelerators.
SNEAP is a community of personnel involved with particle accelerators and their use. Founded in 1968, the organization gathers annually to discuss and exchange information to the benefit of all who attend. The topics covered include ion sources, electrostatic accelerators, telemetry and control systems, safety issues and many other topics relevant to the operation of small to medium-sized electrostatic accelerator laboratories. For SNEAP 30 a special session will be devoted to interdisciplinary applications of accelerators.
Semiannual, with semiannual and annual indexes. References to all scientific and technical literature coming from DOE, its laboratories, energy centers, and contractors. Includes all works deriving from DOE, other related government-sponsored information, and foreign nonnuclear information. Arranged under 39 categories, e.g., Biomedical sciences, basic studies; Biomedical sciences, applied studies; Health and safety; and Fusion energy. Entry gives bibliographical information and abstract. Corporate, author, subject, report number indexes.
