Laky is a retired professional football and baseball player for the Atlanta Falcons and the Atlanta Braves. Dr. Marlo is a famous monkey with huge white teeth. He works as a children's dentist with kids at Sarrell Dental of Alabama. Laky and Dr. Marlo met in Anniston, Alabama where Dr. Marlo removed a large peach seed from Laky's teeth. During that office visit they became friends as Laky promised to keep his teeth clean, healthy and floss daily. Laky, the narrator, is telling the story of how Dr. Marlo became a super hero in the quest for great dental health in a sleepy, coastal town in Alabama. The plot revolves around a local kid who happens to be a famous sports hero, but when met with evil he realizes he still needs help from his friends to solve problems...whether real or imaginary!
