Richard Stout was born 1615 in Nottinghamshire, England. He was the son of John Stout and Elizabeth Bee (or Gee). Richard served seven years aboard a ship and immigrated to America sometime prior to the year 1640. He married Penelope Kent (or Lent) in the year 1644. They settled in Monmouth Co., New Jersey and were the parents of five children. Descendants lived in New Jersey, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, South Dakota and elsewhere.
