Excerpt from Illinois, Springfield: City Directories; Excerpts From Newspapers and Other Sources Full page advertisement (opposite page 614) of Alexander Hesler's Chi cago photographic studio in Smith Du Moulin's Illinois State Business Directory, 1860. Hesler is credited with making five photographs of Abraham Lincoln during two sittings in Chicago and Springfield. They are classified as 0-2 (chicago, Illinois), 0-26, 0-27, 0-28 and 0-20 (springfield, Illinois). No record can be found that Lincoln ever visited Hesler's new loca tion at 113 Lake Street.
