Dracula is certainly among the best-known men in the world, yet arguably the least understood. While many stories have been told about both the real and the fictional Dracula, Foia's account benefits from four decades of research and the unique perspective of a Transylvanian native. Under Foia's pen, the "Dracula Chronicles" finally pierces the veil of mystery that has shrouded the Wallachian king for over 500 years. The multivolume historical novel unfolds in vivid detail Dracula's epic metamorphosis from a naïve and trusting prince to the ruthless law-and-order king whose deeds have spawned the most enduring vampire legend. Taking place on the backdrop of the dying Middle Ages and the blossoming of the Renaissance the "Dracula Chronicles" is replete with towering passions, unbridled ambitions, vile betrayals, and righteous revenge. And, as one would expect, blood. Book One of the series, "Son of the Dragon", provides a first ever origin story of the man whose fame has survived for over 500 years and has reached even the most remote places of the planet. It begins Dracula's epic journey that will see the young prince become in future volumes the famed strongman, warrior, and object of women's interest who has conquered the imagination of millions. Inquisitive, skilled at arms, and often reckless, young Dracula seeks out danger to prove his readiness to be a man. An avid reader of history and lover of languages, Dracula uses his knowledge and wits to overcome impossible odds facing him. Then, in a single impulsive step he propels himself into a hostile world capable of devouring even the strongest men.

All Rights Reserved CHAPTER ONE The cold winds blew past Scott as he sat anxiously at the bus stop. He had just arrived in New Orleans, waiting for his uncle to come and pick him up. He glanced at both sides of the road with his pale face, waxed dark hair plastered to his forehead and deep blue eyes which sunk deep into his skull, wearing a long leather brown jacket which reached down his feet, black jean trousers and a red woolen muffler round his neck. It was already dark with a few clouds visible in the sky. No one seemed to be to walking on the sidewalks anymore. Silence filled the streets as the wind made falling leaves to hover across midair. The only sound Scott could hear was the howling winds and rustling leaves from the trees planted along the pavements of the street. Fright washed through him whiles he sat all alone on the bench. He turned his head to his left side to see a silhouetted animal standing in the middle of the road. "Isn't that a wolf standing in the middle of the road?" he thought. The wolf was a little different, four feet taller than the normal and an enormous one. Scott stared at it with a taut jaw. It was the first time he had seen such a huge creature and he never even thought they existed. The animal stared right back at him with glowing eyes. It growled, showing its gritted teeth at him. Scott's heart began racing and his palms sweating. The wolf was moving slowly towards him. He jerked up from his seat, holding onto his briefcase .Then a light suddenly came from the other end of the road. He turned his stare to that direction and saw the light coming from a blue SUV's head lights. "Uncle" he thought, feeling a sense of relief. He turned his head to the left direction again and the wolf had disappeared. He sighed deeply and shrugged. As predicted, the car stopped next to him. The horns beeped and the window glass rolled down."Scott!" his uncle shrieked with a large grin on his face. His skin was pale like Scott's, shaved head, wrinkled face―probably in his fifty's and an imperial shaped beard, wearing a black leather jacket, blue tattered jeans and brown cowboy shoes."Sorry I kept you waiting that long―its late, come on, get inside" his uncle continued. He took three steps, opened the back door and sat down with his brief case placed beside him.
