Excerpt from Some Remarks on the Bill for Taking, Examining and Stating the Publick Accounts of the Kingdom: And on the Proceedings Thereon in Both Houses, the Last Sessions Several Reafons may be afligned, why f0 little was done during thefe many Commi ions, and how it came to pafs that their Remarks were fo trifling, and fo te mote from the Matter of Accounts; and thefe will rea dily occur to any who will fet themfelves to confider: I will mention one thing, which may not commonly be ta ken notice of. In the firft Commiflion of Accounts the Enquiry was reftrain'd to the fifth of November, except only as to the Accounts of the Money iffued for Repairs of the Navy in King james's Reign, under the Management of Mr. P 5. Soon after the Revolution there was a great and general clamour on this Head, be caufe the Ships, which were certified to King jam: to be throughl repair'd, were found, when they came to.
